3 nights for $84 seems like an even better idea. There's a huge deck, so we can spend plenty of time outside :-) It would be great if we could time this the same time as the "Official" NA campout next year, then we could connect the 2 events via web cams.

I like that suggestion Hector. That would be very cool actually. I'm with Robin a cool beach house beats outside and sweaty or rained on in my book!

No bullshit. 3 years ago, I went camping with my wife & kids and our friends at Squaw Lake on the CA/OR border. We were at the farthest camp into the upper lake, about 3 miles from the next closest campsite. That year, there had been record forest fires in northern California and you could smell the smoke in the air. On our third and final day at the lake, about an hour and a half after the sun went down, a 9 foot tall cinnamon brown bear that had be displaced by the forest fires, knocked over the garbage can next to where our cars were parked. After a 15 minute standoff with the bear between us (4 adults, 8 children and 5 dogs) and our mode of escape, we finally made it out of the campgrounds only to return in the morning to find our site utterly ravaged.

I will happily declare "dibs" and gladly pay extra for the Captain's Suite.

In case you didn't catch my point....fuck camping.

Someone has to volunteer to take the reigns.  If you ask Paul, he will tell you that organizing it isn't easy.

The house idea is kind of all-inclusive though, this beach house, so I think it would be slightly less work than what Paul is undertaking.  (drinkable water on tap, outlets, shelter, bedding/sleeping arrangements there)

As far as dates go, I'm a student so I vote for summer

So can't call this a campout if you're staying in a beach house

That place is pretty slick. Poker, pool, NES, drinks... I'm in. Going halfway across the continent was always the biggest issue for me.

If this "Sleeps 28" is anything like how "Sleeps 28" works on a houseboat, someone's going to be sleeping on a mat under the sink/stairs. In that case, dibs on a real bed.

And it slowly starts to fade away.

Alright I'm really interested and it seems the West Coast like's to roll in style. We can call this NintendoAge Beachout and set down in one of the beach houses Robin mentioned before.

I am down to follow up and do this so I am going to ask Paul how he runs the NA Campout and I'll be back with an update of what we need to do.

If nothing else, and if the beach house thing falls through, everyone can get together at my arcade place for drunken video games. I don't really live next to anything cool like a condo, but Seaside and Long Beach are only an hour or so away. Maybe just for a day thing before the beach or something, just throwing it out there.

You have never been to a beach in the PacNW have you? "Beach house" is a relative term...it is a house...but is it really a beach?

sweet. I wish I could spear head this thing, but I have been busy job hunting. I hope we can get this thing going!

As for who would play video games at a beach house... I would! I did when my family took a cruise, and went to Hawaii.

I also vote for the barcade trip.

Ok guys, I'll lend a hand if I can.

I hope this works out for you, just please don't call it campout

Beachhouse sounds nice.

Campout really refers to how everyone at my get together have to sacrifice for it to be fun. It's fun but people lose sleep due to the heat, etc.

Good luck all. ohh and my wife says, just come here if you wanna go to a campout.

I was thinking about this today also, and how we could get it going. Would a convention type thing where we all meet at a hotel and rent a convention room for a common area or something like that. I do know of this lodge in Tahoe that has like 15 rooms it used to be an old motel that they converted the front room to a common room with a kitchen and what not. and its not too expensive suprising enough. Any intrest in something like that? Robin its like 10 minutes away from 5 casinos!

I would definitely do the beach house. Sounds like a great experience. Just as long as I can have a snore off with Robin.

If it was decently near a major airport, I would likely fly out for the beach house depending on the dates.

Instead of renting a beach house we should just raid Robins! He has room for everybody...
