Freaking amazing deal man. I am still very jealous of all those papers too. Please don't forget to let me know about the color cart and your serial number too. Great freaking score. Makes me want to get rid of my spare tester and make someone happy, plus it takes up a lot of my limited space.

Noob questions are both allowed and encouraged -- all of us were noobs at one point

And when it comes to test equipment, I'm right there with you as far as noob-ness. I'll let NGD or Parpunk answer your question because I dont' really know (don't own one, *yet*)

These are really freaking cool and test a lot of NES items. I have owned 5 of these so far, have 2 right now in fact. Each tester has a test cartridge inside, a NTF2 System Test Cart. There are 2 known versions, one white, one black and they are both in a Famicom style cartridge oddly enough.

The testers allow you to test controlers, fourscores, ROB's, Zappers, Powerpads, RF Swtichs, AC Adapters, RCA cables, game carts, and NES systems. They are super handy if you are a seller. You can test a huge pile of accessoires within minutes and know for 100% if they work or not. I recently just found an AC adapter that would power on a NES and make it work. I plugged it into the test station and it was failing the test. After closer inspection it had a short in it and could have burned down someones house had I not found it.

They also some with at least 2 different types of TV. The orignal TV type is a Panasonic. If you had to get a replacement one it was an RCA model.

They also have ports to plug in a SNES test station on the right side of it. The SNES ones aren't nearly as cool as the NES ones though, not nearly as many features.

The price on these is very odd. I have seen them sale for as little as 150 bucks, and for as much as 4000. I have sold 2 of them for nearly 800 bucks for just the test station. The test stuff is probably my favorite stuff for the NES, very cool items. If you want to know anything else just ask.

Yep NGD pretty much summed it up. I was a total noob at all the test stuff myself until when i just got it a couple days ago too. Its a very awesome item and is very cool. You basically just turn the little knob in the center to whatever you want to test. And say for instance if you wanna test controllers. you just put it on accessories, and then select controller test. Then a controller comes up on screen and you hit the buttons on the controllers and see if it reads it. Same works with the zapper etc. All the buttons on the screen areent lit up, and when you hit the button they light up green to show you that they are working good. One thing i notice is that it seems that the Control Deck Test cart is mainly to be used on other systems to check em out. Not necessarily used to work with the test center. I put it in the test center and it just went through all these checks, said Ram OK etc. But i actually think you put it in nes systems and it checks out the insides to make sure everything is working good with them. Very cool and very handy item. I suppose they attached it to the test center with a chain because they probably picked up lots of nes consoles and put it in them. To test them beside the test station. Very awesome item and great piece of nintendo history.

I actually just got a big binder yesterday with 100 of those sheet protectors and im putting all the documents in order and making a big NES Repair Service Guide with them. It looks real nice and all ya do is just slide the papers in the plastic sheets to protect them, and the sheets already have 3 holes on em to put em in a book. All the documents were just in an envelope when i first got em. So im putting some order to them and making them nice. :-)

He picked it up in a private deal from someone who bought out a repair center. Someone just asked the same question at NESforums.

I have one that I am about to try and get rid of if anyone is seriously interested in one. I am waiting on a few potential trades for it right now and I would much rather the trades happens than selling it, but I will be glad to entertain offers if anyone is intersted.

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

I guess you would first have to get very lucky and find a place who still has these kinds of items. I know alot of people either threw out, or sent back the nes test stations,. And either through away the documents or sent them back too. Honestly ive never seen one in person until when i just got it. So these kind of things arent very common thats for sure.

Oh hey NGD i dunno if you know or not. But according to the people that used my test station, they said to NEVER put in a nes cart while the test station is on. They said it can either blow a fuse or ruin a nes cart. Always turn off the test station, turn the knob to test game cart, insert cart then power on. Glad i knew this before jamming the nes test cart in it lol.
