Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the 2018 NA Weekly Contest Year End Tournament!

After a long year of many impressive performances and mighty competition, 12 players that ranked in the top of the 2018 leaderboard will compete in a 3 weeks tournament that will be played in 3 rounds. For the first round, 3 groups of 4 players have been formed from their respective tournament seed :

Group B :
2nd tablew/chairs
5th Krunch
8th Seppatoni

Group C :
3rd arnpoly
6th skinnygrinny
9th Ausden
12th the tall guy
 
The top seed of each group will pick the game their group will play in first round, and the worst performance in each group will be eliminated. The games available for first round are :

Kickle Cubicle
Marble Madness
Ducktales
 
1st seed has the first choice, then 2nd, etc. A game cannot be picked more than twice, and if a game is played by two different groups, the two groups will morph into one group of 8 players where the 2 worst performances will be eliminated.
 
Rules are revealed after every group know which game they are playing.

I kindly ask for bertsampson, tablew/chairs and arnpoly to post or message me their games of choice till tomorrow so the games can begin!

Marble Madness Rules:
1 player only
Choose whichever control style you want
Play until Game Over
Take your picture when you get a Game Over, or, if you score high enough, on the High Score Screen
Highest score wins
GENRE: Arcade

Kickle Cubicle rules:
Play until you have no extra lives remaining (no Kickle faces are present in the upper-righthand corner of the screen). In other words, your run ends when you have only 1 life left.
Secure your score before going into a boss battle.  You cannot see your score or lives remaining while fighting a boss.
Any sort of extra lives loops (getting a 1-up, dying, and repeating the process) will be forbidden
If you are able to make it to the final boss battle on one continue, secure your score before going into the fight (you earn no points for boss battles)
Playing the special rounds is not allowed
Highest score wins

Damn I hope I get to play duck tales against the platform champ in round 1

Shit the damn puzzle game will be left for group c though..... there is no way anybody willingly picks kickle 

I bet Tables has the stones to pick Kickle.

I'm happy with any of these choices. I've actually never played Ducktales.

My guess is I'll be playing Ducktales.

Unfortunately bert would have to be out of his mind to pick Marble Madness. What a cruel tease.

Dunno whether tables will pick Marble Madness or Kickle. He's good at both so it could do either way. I would like to see tables and Krunch compete at MM because they're both pretty good.

MM I have a shot. Duck tales I’m confident, even though I’ve only played it 5-10 min, I’m good at platformers. 

Kickle. I’d really have to put some effort into and still might not make it into the second round. 

 

i'll do marble madness

I assume that means that I'll be playing Ducktales and skinny will have to play Kickle. I like how skinny has to keep playing puzzle games in these tournaments, lol.

marble madness will have the quickest runs, i like ducktales but marble madness will be more accessible for everyone hope bert picks it too
 

Marble Madness has the quickest runs, but grinding it for a long period of time does take its toll on the hands. 

I'm with you in hoping that bert picks it too. I seriously doubt that's going to happen, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

 

And first round to boot. Tetris last year, kickle (most likely) this year. such is the life of a tapeworm.

 

I have posted the rules for Marble Madness. Table's group can start playing tomorrow.
Bert would have the first pick, but unless Arnpoly shows up here and also picks Marble Madness, which I find highly unlikely to happen, there will be no problem letting Table have the first pick.
