These contests take a lot of time and commitment, which is no easy task. I spend a lot of time figuring out games to play, creating rules, and trying to make sure the rules will work well with each game. Plus there's keeping an eye on all the scores and participants every week and making sure everyone is playing by the rules, collecting and purchasing prizes (which has already been done for the whole year), making sure all the prizes (NES games) work correctly, and also shipping them out. Then there's updating the leaderboard each and every week, which takes time for adding up points and editing it as well. And then there's planning the tournaments, which includes the format, the games, and the prizes. It may not look like a lot, but there's a lot of planning and preparation that goes into each and every one of the contests.

-------------------------

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

Beware the Bimmy Marsh!

Just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate everything. And me being new to the contest this year, semester rather, I haven't been able to properly extend my gratitude. So, sincerely, thank you for everything you do to keep the contests fun.

Hi Heros!

Welcome to the contest, and welcome to Nintendo Age!

Glad to have you

All weekly game contests are on NTSC Nintendo Consoles, as Bimmy does state in the first post

" Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun"

You may also emulate the game, but no save states or turbo, as well, it must be the NTSC rom and no screen shots for your score

Glad to have you and hope you participate!

If someone can't figure out what system the game is for, there's a nifty search bar in the upper right-hand corner that you can use to search for the game. Besides, these contests are all NES games.

If I can get past those annoying karate kid wannabes without taking a beating (and avoid the knives) this game is as good as beaten.

To me,the most frustrating aspects of this game are the cheapness and the glitches. When fighting you get damaged by phantom hits. It's garbage. Plus the heart pickup difficulty as well.

I'm finding it tougher and tougher to stay motivated to play this....this....turd! Definitely tired of getting killed by the mongoloid boss and his super cheap kicks that take off way to much energy and by the mutant hookers with uppercuts that would put Mike Tyson to shame. And tired of the cheap life draining hits, like the knife throwers who refuse to throw their knives until they are in your face,no matter how much you bait them. Maybe I've just played it too much today, but right now if I owned the cart I would seriously feel like smashing it into tiny little bits. I miss Castlevania.....

I really got irritated with the skateboarders that can keep knocking you down as fast as you can stand up. The guys in the last two levels that look like Abobos wearing tuxedos are just as bad. If they punch you, they will just knock you down again as soon as you stand up until you die. After beating the game I gave up and went back to playing Frostbite on my Atari 2600.

We this iis the first time I got a decent score in a contest game and when I took the pic I wasn't thinking and the top of the screen was cut off. Looks like I have to slug through this turd again. ((

After one failed run,I just went ahead and continued and beat the game. I didn't find those dudes in tuxedos that hard. I would just foot sweep, move, repeat. Did the same with Mr. Big. The only time those tuxedos guys ever gave me problems is when they cornered me since they can constantly pummel you as you get up. The hookers can do it to a degree as well. Damn hookers...

yeah..those skateboard guys were a pain if you happen to get caught in a loop (happened on my first run). leg sweep is by far the best attack but garners the least amount of points (not saying its a big deal due to the low amount anyway lol). I had some issues with some of the items you can use on enemies (i.e. the fire extinguisher or trash can). I would just throw it off screen.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. Considering how late they appear in the game, it's beyond annoying when they do that and you have to start over from the beginning. I don't mind a game that's legitimately difficult, but this one just seems to be full of cheap ways to get killed off.

I don't think the weapons even do any extra damage when you use them. Since they keep you from being able to pick up the energy hearts, I would do the same thing and throw them off screen so at least the enemies can't get them.

I agree 100%! I'm hoping I'll beat this tonight after I see the Carrie remake, but we'll see. I'm really liking Rollerball. I had never played it prior to a few days ago. I actually mistook it for Roller Games. I was like....a roller derby game?!

And only 5 submissions so far?! Come on guys! Yeah, this game is far,far from awesome but there are points to be had here! And possibly a random drawing for a prize! So yeah....power up those consoles or emulators.
