from level 6 through level 2 you are getting bombarded...i mean it is a different game, another level...damn...all i can say is DAMN....

Good job man! Funny that your higher score is the one in which you didn't beat the game. And yeah,those last few levels are pretty hectic,but at least the last level is easy which is weird in a way. Great game,even if the music is more or less an intermittent ebs tone. The arcade version has way better sound,even though it's the same "song". 1943 is also pretty awesome. Looking forward to more great scores. And I'm curious to see what you post guillvoie. I'm sure you'll blow my score away,especially if you can no death it. I got to stage 14 before I died. Hopefully you'll join in on this one too Tom.

I did NOT beat the game without a continue.
My 1,139,000 score I just got happened when I died on level 6

But

I didn't want to just give up so I then continued to just play the game for fun and beat it (not to score)
I actually had to continue again on level 3 too. But I got it done, just for my own personal goal and to know I actually beat it, as I was so close I couldn't just let the opportunity pass me by as I don't think I have another run left in me.

I did play 1943 afterward and MAN those controls are SO much smoother. I wish that 1942 was as smooth, but alas, it isn't

I had a blast playing it though and am glad I did beat it

I'm sure gullivore will crush my score, but that's ok too, I had fun

I'm really glad this game came up on the contest.  I've always liked 1942 but never really spent the time to try and get good at it until now.

I added an extra pic from when I started the final stage, so that it's clear that I still had a lot of lives remaining and didn't do any intentional deaths (believe me, if I was going for percentage bonuses, my life counter would be around zero! )  I think I died about 3-4 times on this run.

I got in one good run this week before work took over, lost all my lives on the 2nd last stage though. I'll have to beat this one at some point, it's enjoyable enough when listening to other music.

gutsman's score post has been fixed to show his correct score since he accidentally typed in the wrong number and actually took some points away from himself. I will be getting Mega Man started early today because I will be hanging out with my brother tonight and we are going to have high winds and possible severe weather, so I want to be prepared in case the power goes out

Strange weekly contest for me. After my laptop went dead and missed some weeks ( i had a personal goal of playing each week ,please make this a icon next year Bimmy)I decidide to focus on a few games and this was 1 of them. I wanted a win pretty bad . My only win this year left a bad taste.But playing in advance is a risk because you don't know the rules. I focused on a high score no matter what and already had my pics ready. But the rules where changed and i played with mixed feelings all over again and that for a long playing time.Btw somebody said that playing long    with enough time is the way to go but i disagree . Because there is so much on the screen i played with breaks to keep concentrated .Anyway i hate correcting my text because some keys don't seem to work correctly. ( i'llbuy a aplle next time) so i'll leave it with these comments

I couldn't get my groove going this week. I started off feeling good about it. Played some Monday and Tuesday, then got sick. Tried again today but I just can't get anything going. I had to play this one with an emulator and a GameCube controller so maybe that threw me off. I should order one of those dongles from retrozone. I'll give it one more shot then I'll start playing mega man.
