Oh yeah, the price was wicked. That's why I ran away so fast! Didn't want them to think to hard on it or whip out their smart phones! I love getting disc games CIB. For some reason it seems harder to find manuals by themselves for disc games then cartridge games...

Anyways...

Today I went and traded some crap to Gamestop and got in on their 3 Wii U games to get 30% off. Ended up having to buy a figure to use up the last bit of my credit. Yesterday I also went to Tacoma and traded some junk to Half Price Books and Al's.

Yesterday

HPB:

DS Children of Mana - Trade in (CIB)
DS Radiant Historia -$17.49 (CIB)
Vita Little Big Planet - $10 (CIB)
Xbox Monster Garage - $2 (CIB)
Xbox Advent Rising - $3 (Sealed)
PS2 Brave: The Search for Spirit Dancer - Trade in (CIB)
PS2 Kengo: Master of Bushido - $5 (CIB)
SNES We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story - Trade in

Al's:

Did a straight trade of a bunch of games for this stuff, so no money spent.

Xbox IHRA Drag Racing 2004 - (CIB)
Xbox IHRA Professional Drag Racing 2005 - (CIB)
Xbox Top Spin - (CIB)
Xbox Classified: The Sentinel Crisis - (CIB, water damage to cover)
Xbox RalliSport Challenge - (CIB, manual damage)
Xbox RalliSport 2 - (CIB)
Xbox Links 2004 - (CIB)
Xbox Inside Pitch 2003 - (Missing manual)
PS2 Shadow Hearts Covenant - (CIB)
NES Hydlide
NES Defender of the Crown
NES Destination Earthstar
SNES Brutal: Paws of Fury
N64 Conker's Bad Fur Day
SNES and Sega Genesis power plug thing (I got it because I need a power plug for my Sega CD)

Today

Gamestop:

I traded in $25.85 worth of games to get all this.

Wii U Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival - (CIB, sealed)
Wii U Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - (CIB, not Nintendo Selects version)
Wii U Nintendo Land - (CIB)

Very happy to finally get Conker's and Brutal. Conker's has been bugging me for awhile. I was going to get SSB* but they didn't have a copy in stock. So next best thing. One less over priced N64 game to get. And I finally found a copy of Brutal! I loved that game as a kid...it was my Mortal Kombat as my mom didn't want me playing such a violent game...so I got to play a violent game where animals beat the crap out of eachother...lol. Xbox stuff is garbage but it's to fill in the library. Glad to get a power plug for my Sega CD...I have two but have yet to test them out since no power plugs. But yeah I got a crap ton of stuff off my list finally. Feels great when that happens. Oh and the sale at Gamestop was pretty nice...just wish they had taken all of my junk games...oh well I'll try trading them next time I go to Tacoma to Al's...they seem to take just about anything!

In the hopes of saving money since it's the end of the month and I have plans on buying a LRG this Friday...I went to a pawn shop to trade some of the junk that the game stores didn't take...yeah didn't go so great.

On the one hand they're selling older games cheap (common stuff like on the PS2/Xbox/Wii/PS3/360) but on the other they're giving you quarters for the games you sell. They wouldn't even touch the Genesis or SNES stuff I had. Which worries me. Are they getting out of the older cartridge games? That's about the only place I can find cartridge games anymore. Thrift stores are sort of out of the question as Goodwill sends everything good online. And yard sales...well I haven't had much luck this year for cartridge games. I think it might depend on the pawn shop but...idk. It doesn't sound good. Also they're about the only place I can hit during the winter. Damn it.

Anyways...so sold about $3 worth of Xbox crap games...as in 12 games for $3...but game stores wouldn't take em, and I wouldn't get jack for them on eBay. So better then nothing.

Pawn shop:

GBA Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team - $1
DS Metroid Prime Pinball - $5 (loose)
DS Valkyrie Profile - $5 (loose)
DS Magical Starsign - $1 (CIB)
Wii Furu Furu Park - $1 (CIB)
360 Shadows of the Damned - $1 (CIB)
360 Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce - $1 (CIB)

Happy about the GBA game as well as the CIB DS game. The DS game looks like a cute little RPG (also never heard of it mentioned when DS RPGs are named...so it's an unknown or shit RPG...I'll have to see). The Wii game looks cute as well.

Just...bit worried and unsure about the future of game collecting at pawn shops now...

If Astor got that little for 12 games then they must be extreme shovelware. On the positive side at least it's 3 dollars for stuff no one will ever buy.

Well since most of the PS2/Xbox era stuff was $1...and they had a lot...yeah I don't think they sell them.

Eh not really. Everything was worth under $10 to be sure so that's why I see it as not worth my time to put it up on eBay between the fees and price of packaging the games up. Also a portion of my end money goes to my mom whos account I'm using to sell items. Between all of that, I'd make a few bucks. Not worth it.

So there were some common games...but I was just tired of dragging the games around. I had tried to sell them to two different game stores and another pawn shop. They all had taken some of the games and this was the stuff left that those places wouldn't touch. It was pawn them or donate them at this point.

Went back to that HPB because I was in the area and I had more garb..."stuff" to trade...lol. They didn't take everything again...it was all less then $10 games...about 5 or so games and a few DVDs and I got $12. Would have gotten $13 but I pulled out the two most expensive games they were taking since I knew I could probably get more for them at a game shop. Shows how much they give you per game...need to stop trading into HPB...at least with games unless they're sports games.

HPB:

GBC Pokemon Puzzle Challange - $8
DS Eco Creatures: Save The Forest - $6 (Missing manual)
360 Enchanted Arms with Comic - $12.49 (CIB)
360 Elder Scrolls Oblivion Collector's Edition - $15 (CIB)
PC Sailor Moon 3D Adventures - $20 (CIB)

So...eh. I would have gotten more but I was watching my spending and I spent a lot on manga. I grabbed Eco Creatures on a whim...as I think I've heard about it from somewhere? Can't remember where but...looked cute as well, and a manual shouldn't be too hard to grab. Finally found a complete Enchanted Arms...replaces my copy. The Oblivion CE looked cool so I grabbed it. Love the game, but I think I just have a normal copy for it. PPC was a random pick as it seemed the cheapest in the "retro" case there. And then the prize. Sailor Moon...they had the game last time but I was wary of the price...since then I've been thinking about it and I'm glad it was still there. I looked it up...goes for $5 more on eBay...plus shipping so...eh. Might as well since I doubt I'd ever find THAT in the wild! Love me some Sailor Moon. <3

Traded more junk in...this time into Gamestop...funny thing on this one. So my local one (like 10 minutes away) wouldn't take these games...so I try one that I had never been to...guess what...took em. My local one lied to me...guy checking the games said they weren't in the system...uh huh...that's why another one took them in right? Anyways...got some money out of it.

Gamestop:

3DS Rune Factory 4 - $30 (CIB)
3DS Ever Oasis - $40 (CIB)

Got $21.50 for trade in.

Game Over:

PS2 Clock Tower 3 - $30 (CIB)

Got $4.25 for trade in of the rest of the games Gamestop wouldn't take.

I think I overpaid for Clock Tower 3...but that was one of the only games where it wasn't massively overpriced. One visit is all it took...doubt I'll go back again for those prices. I want Al's back...I miss getting deals.

Lady at Gamestop convinced me to get Ever Oasis since she said it was like Harvest Moon and Rune Factory...why not lol.

Got surprised with my parents wanting to go to yard sales of all things...must be because I paid them back some money and gave them my rent too...

Yard sale #1:

DS Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days - $1 (CIB)
DS New Super Mario Bros - $1
DS Hello Kitty Party $1
3DS Super Mario 3D Land - $1
3DS Super Street Fighter IV - $1
3DS Pilotwings Resort - $1

and then three garbage DS games as well as a DS carrying case.

Yard sale #2:

Gamecube Wavebird controller with wireless receiver thing - $0.50

Trade in and or selling fodder pretty much. Keeping Angry Birds, Pilotwings, Hello Kitty (because I love Hello Kitty) and Kingdom Hearts. Thankfully it looks like the 3DS games I'm not keeping sell for a little bit of money.

I can finally update this...

The other day I was at Walmart and I found a SNES Classic mini!

Walmart:

SNES Classic Mini - $80

And today I went to HPB to trade in some old DVDs and such and got $51.25 for it.

HPB:

2600 Demons to Diamonds - $2
GB Ducktales - $8 (Label slightly sun faded)
GBA Banjo-Kazooie Grunty's Revenge - $8
GG Dragon Crystal - $5
Xbox Still Life - $5 (CIB)
Wii Dragon Blade Wrath of Fire - $6 (CIB)

Which left me with $13.82 in cash...pretty good.

And I should mention it...my mom got me this for Hanukkah.

GBA Kirby and the Amazing Mirror - $40 (CIB)

That's my second CIB Kirby game for the GBA...this one being in much better shape though!

Of course today the best was the Kirby game. My finds were ok, most being under FMV by a buck or two...but that Kirby blew it out of the water.

Been quiet as of late. Just not going out hunting anymore, money issues and other things. But I did manage to get some things...

This pick up was a few weeks ago. I traded in a bunch of junk that just wouldn't be worth selling on eBay because of shipping/fees. Trade in value was $60 but I opted for $40 and some in store credit to get these games.

Game store:

2600 Maze Craze - $3
PS2 - .hack//G.U. Vol. 3 Redemption - $35 (CIB)
PSP Dissidia Final Fantasy - $7 (CIB with outer slip cover)

And then yesterday I took some garbage DVDs into a pawn shop...got $10 out of it and used that money to buy these (did have to pay $5.27 though lol). I also talked her down on prices...2600 games were $2 a pop and RPG Maker was $7.

Pawn shop:

2600 Barnstorming - $1
2600 Bridge - $1
2600 Dragster - $1 (top label is half ripped)
2600 Enduro - $1
2600 Fishing Derby - $1
2600 Laser Blast - $1
2600 River Raid - $1
2600 Skiing - $1
2600 Sky Jinks - $1
2600 Tennis - $1
2600 Video Pinball - $1
PS1 RPG Maker - $3 (CIB)

It's worth trading junk into places when you're short on cash but want to still get games. Loved finding RPG Maker, been on my list for awhile. And all the 2600 games were also on my list, great to get them off my list lol. And then of course getting a .hack game for nothing pretty much. It was over priced but I didn't actually pay for it...so I'm fine with it.

Went back to that pawn shop the other day because my mom had to sell some gold scrap jewelry...saw Pokemon Crystal for $26 but passed on it since I figured...I'll find it cheaper in the wild.

Pawn shop:

Xbox Limited Edition Mech Assault 2: Lone Wolf - $4 (CIB)
Xbox Star Wars Republic Commando - $5 (CIB)
360 Tales of Vesperia - $5 (CIB)

This pawn shop seems pretty good. I've been able to haggle the prices down effectively. Lone Wolf was priced at $5 and the other two were $10 each. Probably could have bought the Pokemon Crystal honestly but...I was a bit tight on my budget at the time I went there so I didn't want to push my luck. Glad to be continuously crossing things off of my want lists, these were three games on my lists so...pretty good.

Traded some junk games into my local game store...got $40 in credit, bought some blu rays (they sell a mix of media) and used part of it on two games.

Game store:

PS2 Suikoden IV - $17 (CIB)
NES Wizards & Warriors - $8

I have to go back there to return something and make another trade so hopefully I find some good stuff next time as well.

Went back to that store. Traded in more junk and got $70 in credit.

Game store:

2600 Air-Sea Battle - $1
2600 Basketball - $1
2600 Breakout - $1
2600 Centipede - $1
2600 Football - $1
2600 Golf - $1
2600 Home Run - $1
2600 Ice Hockey - $1
2600 Space War - $1
2600 Star Voyager - $1
2600 Vanguard - $1
SNES Populous - $6
Xbox AMF Bowling 2004 - $3 (CIB)
PS2 Atelier Iris Eternal Mana - $25 (CIB)
PS2 Makai Kingdom - $17 (CIB)

I think I did pretty good. I grabbed the Atari games for pretty cheap, going to knock some stuff off my want list there. I know I overpaid on the two PS2 games but they were the only ones that weren't VASTLY over priced...plus I did save on the Atari games so I think it worked out in the end.

Got some cash from helping dad last weekend, decided to hit a local pawn shop.

Pawn shop:

360 Halo 4 - $2 (CIB)

Not much honestly. I bought Halo Wars Limited Edition but it's missing the book and patch that came with it. I didn't notice at the time since I was in a rush...so going to have to return it. Was actually surprised at the lack of games here...they usually have a decent amount.

Returned Halo Wars and got something more interesting...

Pawn shop:

3DS Monster Hunter Generations - Free (CIB, technically speaking it was priced at $14.99 but the guy just let me exchange the cheaper Halo Wars for it)

The guy was cool about just letting me exchange for a more expensive game. So that was nice. Also cool finding a decent 3DS game CIB at a pawn shop...I never see them anymore...it's all shovelware...

There was a local street fair/car show today so I went out with the parents. While they looked at the cars and such, I wandered around and stopped at a pawn shop I've never been to and a game store I never knew existed!

Pawn shop:

NES Hogan's Alley - $6.60 (was $10, comes with dust sleeve)

Game store:

NES Blaster Master - $7 (was $9)
NES CastleQuest - $7 (was $8)
NES Dragon Power - $7 (was $9)

Pretty good prices...guy said the prices were set but if I bought a few he'd knock a few bucks off. Was going to get Castle of Dragon but the price was $16...eBay has it for $12 and he was only willing to knock a buck off so I passed. But I guess I should say good prices if you work a deal out with the guy. Just going off the sticker prices all the games I saw were eBay prices or higher. Sadly most game stores are like this now. Which is why I'd rather hit a pawn shop or thrift store...but the guy was cool and did give me a deal. Might keep them in mind now that I know where they are.

Been lucky to hit up some yard sales and rummage sales...though it's pretty damn dry out there for games.

Rummage sale:

NES Power Pad $5

Rummage sale #2:

Nintendo cookbook from 1992 - 50 cents (So this thing looks like it was a holiday gift from Nintendo to it's employees...I don't think it was ever sold to the public...really freaking cool!)

Yard sale #1:

SNES Extra Innings - $1.50 (Label is super sun damaged and peeling up at the bottom)
SNES NCAA Basketball - $1.50

Found a few more items...

Yard sale:

Bentley Compu-Vision in box with manual - $5 (Box has seen better days...so has the console...damn thing has dead bug bodies all over it...)
Wii Cocoto Kart Racer - $3 (CIB)
PS1 Street Fighter Alpha 3 - $3 (CIB, GH version)
PS1 Strikers 1945 - $3 (CIB)

Goodwill:

Sub Wars handheld from Tiger - $3

The Compu-Vision is neat...wish it was in better shape though and damn it's going to be nasty cleaning it out. Also have to de-must the box...smells a bit funky. Not mold or anything...just...not pleasant. Snagging the PS1 games was cool too. Really surprised at the price of Strikers 1945...I picked it up on a whim...almost passed on it because of the cover art (thought it was a flight simulator) but I turned it over and saw the "in-game" screen shots and thought to give it a go. Sub Wars amazingly still had batteries in it and worked! I always pick up these Tiger handhelds when I see them...cute little things.

Not bad.

Haven't been finding much out there lately...

Last weekend:

Yard sale #1

PS1 Crash Bash - 25 cents (missing manual)

Yard sale #2

Wii New Super Mario Bros Wii - $1 (CIB)
Wii Donkey Kong Country Returns - $1 (CIB)

Yard sale #3

GC Animal Crossing - $1 (CIB but the disc looks like someone used it as a coaster...)

Today:

Yard sale #1

N64 Mario Party 2 - 75 cents

Yard sale #2

Wii Super Mario Galaxy - $2 (CIB)

A few things here and there but it's really dry out there. I'm only finding one or two games per sale and I go to at least 20 sales a day. It's quite different from what it used to be.

Though finding a good N64 game at 75 cents is always a wonderful thing...

Finally got around to celebrating my birthday...only two months later...so I of course went shopping for games.

Hyper Sonic in Tacoma:

DC Shenmue - $30 (CIB)
PSP Tokobot - $5 (CIB, Pal version)
PSP Namco Museum Battle Collection - $5 (CIB)
PS2 Suikoden III - $25 (CIB)
PS2 Goosebumps Horrorland - $10 (CIB)

HPB:

Xbox America's Army: Rise of a Soldier - $4 (CIB)
PS2 Aqua Aqua - $4.49 (CIB)
PS2 Genji: Dawn of the Samurai - $5 (CIB)
PS2 Kengo: Master of Bushido - $6 (CIB)
PS2 Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia - $50 (CIB, special edition)
PS3 Ar Tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel - $25 (CIB, special edition)

I knocked some games off my list today that have been on there for awhile. I think I got a pretty good deal finding the two Ar Tonelico games. The only thing bugging me is I didn't get a receipt from Hyper Sonic and I paid in cash :/ so if something goes wrong with one of the games...idk why I didn't get a receipt.
