that would be a bummer. I guess Jason would be strapped for time also. maybe just a big get together at a smaller place maybe

Yeah, I bet it is a lot of work to get one together. But it sure would be great if they did have one. I would totally drive to Tennessee for one.

Well me and Dain haven't officially talked about this yet but I think we would at least take 1 year off from doing it for sure.  The amount of work that goes into is crazy.  We made some money, but very little considering the time and effort put forth.  I couldn't do nearly as much as I wanted but the PO is working me a lot more than I expected and takes away a lot of my free time from having to work 6 days a week.  Nothing set in stone at this point though.

However if we don't get anything put together, then we will try to have a get together for sure.  I will be buying my first house in the next 2-5 months and I will love to have a ton of people over for one weekend.  Would be a lot of fun.

I second the Chicago idea. Not because I live 20 min away, but because it's centraly located. That way even the Canada Crew can make it along with everyone else. And I'll bring those kids from the Youtube video. That's right, I have them at my house. "put the fucking lotion in the basket!!"

Sounds like we're all gonna have to meet in Vegas at CGE this year (if that doesn't get cancelled as well...)

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

Chicago would be cool. Portland is way too far, though.

I probably wouldn't make the effort just for a sleep-over at NGD's either so n'yeah

Yep, Joe just unofficially announced it on the DP forums on the 16th.  He said an official announcement will be coming soon.

Darn...CGE was another event I would've wanted to see this year, too :/ ...  The main catch, though...from what I understand, the CGEs of years past have been quite populated, to the point where there's no way to talk to everyone there (...or am I wrong?  I've never been :/ )...  AGE Expo was large enough to get the feel of a major event (at least for me), but small enough to where I got to talk to most of those that I wanted to talk to (I think the only exception was Thor...I wanted to talk to him, heck, even have a round with him on the NWC, but didn't quite get the chance to).

Edit:  It should be noted here, that I'm willing to travel virtually wherever an AGE Expo or some form of site get-together can be held (including Canada, if necessary).

After last year's cancellation I was betting that CGE would never come back. Obviously I hope it does but 2009 not happening isn't really a surprise. For those that want AGE Expo in their area, start helping and research some event halls!

Thing to me about a expo is I think just having one at a local community center would be just as much fun as using a convention center. there are centers that can hold several hundred people. from the pictures of the expo and i could be wrong it looked like there was a ton of extra space. one could probally be rented for 100 dollars or less

wow looks like portland should be the show this year come on you guys! Last year it totally rocked. We had a chunkout 2 competition, i auctioned off my dreamcast kiosk and sold nearly $1500 worth of crap in two days... granted i had a lot of crap.

would be great if some more people from this board came to the show to sell. I'd be willing to put up half the money for a NintendoAge Booth.

I third the idea of Toronto although I'm just saying that because it's a hop skip and a jump away. I also realize that the amount of work needed will probably make it so that the odds off something like that wouldn't happen this year.

There's always a show in Toronto anyways, like every 6 months. It's not hosted by NintendoAge or anything, but there are always a few of us there (me included)

I think it would be great to get a bunch of NAers in the same place for a small gathering this year and then next year resurrect the Expo... In Chicago.

Yes Chicago would be great. I'm there too, but even a get together would be nice.
