I'd love to sell off all my random electronics/collectables that aren't entirely VG related for the sake of donating the money to the site.. would an exception be possible for allowing me to post them in an FS thread along with my game related stuff that i also wish to sell/donate?

Good point.  It would make perfect sense to do a Garage sale now, so people can raise some funds.  Let's get this thing funded!

Money incoming. I've recently become a more "active" member over the last year or so, and I can't say enough about how this site has helped me in my collecting journey - not just physical games and what not, but knowledge, advice and just overall providing a great community with a group of people that share the same mutual interest.

Great start everyone, keep up the good work.

I noticed that the OP was revised to say normal payments and not gifts? What's the reasoning? I'd hate to see 3% of the donations get lost, and even worse, if it causes him to get a 1099 at the end of the year (and get taxed between 25-35% on it as "income"). But, whatever is preferred.

Good point.  It would make perfect sense to do a Garage sale now, so people can raise some funds.  Let's get this thing funded!

Agreed, we will start the garage sale time again this Saturday the 11th for two weeks.  Look for the announcement thread on Saturday.

He'd only be taxed on any profits he shows from running the site, which I'm guessing is very little to none.

PayPal probably gets angry when there are suddenly $60x100 gifts to someone.
