Lately, I've been thinking of fun ways that I can do a few things here on NA:
- Participate in the various contests and similar threads
- Challenge myself
- Raise money for charity (Extra Life)
That's where this thread comes in!
Basically, we have a number of cool threads here on NA with some cool folks running some cool competitions. I'd like to help where I can but tend to have trouble zoning in on one thing. That's where you come in!
You can challenge me to beat a game for one of the completion threads, or to try to come in at a certain spot in one of the contests, and I will even put my money where my mouth is - if I fail to complete the challenge, I will ALSO donate the amount that you donated! There's a few caveats which I will get into below, but in general it's pretty cut and dry - you donate the listed amount for a challenge, and I will complete it, or else donate the same amount myself, thus doubling your donation!
Example 1: You really want to see Gremlins 2 beaten for the NES thread. It's a 4/10 game on there, so it'd require a minimum $20 donation ($5 per point of difficulty). You donate $20 and initiate the challenge. I will complete it within a reasonable amount of time (taking difficulty into account), or else fail the challenge and have to donate $20 as well.
Example 2: You can challenge me to come in 3rd place or better for Uniracer for the SNES Monthly Contest. For the SNES contest let's call it $10 for 3rd, $20 for 2nd, and $30 for 1st. Same as the first example beyond that, really. Either I get that placement or better, or I match your donation!
