Thanks Guil!I had so many close calls from 19 to 23, and then halfway through 23, I became way too cavalier and made a giant mistake (maybe I'll disclose that and my strategy after the competition )

I'd like to see you playing live, if possible. Let me know if you made a last attempt before Sunday, and if you'd like to broadcast it.

I'm a total zero at this game. If I try hard, I might get 30k, I'm just sooooooooo ungood.

Definitely man. Actually, tonight would probably be the only night I'll have available (not sure what my Saturday or Sunday schedule looks like right now), so I can do it at 8:00 PM NA time if you'd like.

Cool man! I'll log on after supper. I should be all over that Valentine Day thing, but my girlfriend caught a nasty virus ( from me, hehe ) and she's just going to lie on the couch indefinitely.

On a side note, since I'm just a terd at Dr. Mario, I've played a bit of Mega Man 2 lately, planning to be somewhat a competitor for a race. I'll pm ya for organizing some sort of friendly race with other players soon.

Slight improvement over my last score, I beat level 16 this time but still need to get more combos in the middle levels. I can't believe some of the scores being put in! You are friggin' insane dra600n.

I would think its more work to keep tabs on previous posts. You know when you've seen a new post so you can continue where you last saw from. Just my $.02

What I usually do is start a new post with an updated score, but edit the pic and score out of the old one...is that harder for bimmy?

That's a pretty good idea. A best of both worlds scenario. I would like to see what Kevin thinks as well. Whatever makes it easier for him, I'll do. No need to add more work for someone who already does more than enough for us.

I prefer if there's one picture per person because when I update the leaderboard at the end of the contest, I scan the thread for pictures, and when I see one, I stop and check the score.  It helps me collect all the scores a little bit quicker.  Although, for those who have more than one picture in here, it is cool to see how you guys have bettered your scores throughout the week.

My apolgogies. I asked in the SM3 thread if I could post more than one score. I didn't realize that entailed updated the original. I was confused, and I'll admit I didn't read the rules closely enough. I'll ensure to do that for the next game.

Everyone may note I haven't updated my last score and it's not from a lack of trying! Ahhhh, this game is killing me.

I am searching for the following SNES manuals:
- Sunset Riders    - TMNT IV: Turtles in Time      - Total Carnage
- Utopia                 - Final Fantasy II
Please PM me if you have one or all of them for sale. While I like nice condition, I am interested in anything 7/10ish up.

I would also enjoy this if it happens. Really amazing scores bud.

EDIT: I just read the rest of the thread. I may have missed it. It can get confusing with the time differences. Is it over?

No, every contest ends at 10 PM NA time on Sundays. You still have some time to work on your score.

Well, that was fun to broadcast it. Maybe I'll do it again tomorrow night (I should be available around 10:00 PM NintendoAge time). I'll keep everyone posted if they want to watch/are interested/whatever.

Yeah, that was great, man. Gave me some good tips; hopefully I get a chance to practice before the deadline.

On a more serious note, I've played EarthBound today for so long, I feel all tense and mentally worn out.
Then you called your mother and felt better?

I'm suing Dr. Mario for malpractice. >=( What a cheap game. You need red pills? How about 12 straight blue and yellow ones! Need a different color? We'll be sure to give you every color except the one you need.  Blah.

Decided to participate for the first time. Unfortunately my self esteem took a huge hit after I saw the top scores. Oh well played a quick round before work and here's my pitiful attempt:

That's what took my last score just over 2 and a half hours. There were times when I wouldn't get the pill color combo I needed for 50+ pills.

No worries man, there are plenty of games that will come along for these weekly tournaments that those with high scores in this game, will surely struggle with in other games, and vice versa. At least you're giving an attempt and getting participation points! Ya never know, that 1 participation point may be the determination if you get into one of the Tournament of Champions later on

No worries, dude.  This is only week two of the contests and we have tons more games to go.  I'm sure throughout the course of the year I will pick some games that are your favorites and that you excel at.  In these contests at some point, everyone is gonna run into a game that they struggle with.  Back when nesruler22 used to host the contests and I was a participant, I was only getting the participation point on an almost weekly basis.  However, I persisted and by the end of the year, I was one of the top people on the leaderboard just through the participation point.  Not everyone is going to play every week and some people will play every week.  If you're one of those people who play every week, you can move up through the leaderboard fairly quick.

@Adam: Damn, you're a Dr. Mario beast

-------------------------

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

Beware the Bimmy Marsh!

Yeah, this is crazy.

I got a run of double yellow pills last night.  It went on for well over a minute.  I literally set the controller down and just watched them drop.  Pile up to 4, dissapear, repeat.  The only yellow virus' I still had on the screen were burried so they were of no help.

I finally stood up to go hit the reset button and, sure enough, I got a different color.  I don't remember this ever happening in all my years of playing Dr. Mario.
