I don't personally have one (I've got an AV modded top loader), but I'm pretty sure that you can play NES games on an AV Famicom with a 72 pin to 60 pin converter like this one: http://store.retrofixes.com/products/nes-to-famicom-game-ada...

 

Yeah, what b-d said. I don't have a converter because I just use my toploader for NES games, but it should work fine. I also haven't noticed a jailbar problem with my toploader. Maybe that's something that could be fixed?

Usually, the only way to fix the display issues with top loaders is to have them modded. There are rare consoles with revised boards that were sent out as replacements directly from Nintendo. Does yours have a light blue serial number sticker on the bottom instead of the typical white one? That's the easiest way to tell if you have a serviced top loader without opening it up, unless you're really lucky and have one of the repaired consoles with the SNES style multi out connector instead of the standard RF out.

Just throwing it out there,but I LOVE the weekly battle and subsequent smack talk between RichardHead,JamesRobot,and now SuperJimtendo.
Wish there was more of it going on.

In my opinion it's on par with the Santa newsletter.

I mean,who doesn't love one competitor calling another a chumpstain?

I just got around to checking the scores from the 2013 contest and I only won that week by 59 points. That was close! Both of our old scores are still over 300 points better than the current TG record of 67,200.

Thanks for doing that. I meant to add the link to my last post and forgot. I'm getting forgetful in my old age.

 

I think I got 4th or 5th place. I do remember beating it for the first time ever and giving the cart the finger,hence the middle finger in the paper with my name on it.

I don't think we've seen the official gutsman middle finger of frustration since the Rush N Attack contest. Ghosts N Goblins is coming up in a few weeks. Maybe it will make a comeback.

To be fair, SuperJimtendo was most likely invited over by Richardhead's woman while he's away. She hates watching Monday Night RAW alone.

That being said, I plan on mopping up against Dildo and Scroto Baggins again this week.

Did anyone ever say what the difference in cars was? I know the F1 tops out at 255 with turbo.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

I'm fairly sure that the cars are identical outside of appearance.  I like the 80's vibe of the red car.  It's not quite the same, but it reminds me a little of a Camaro I used to have.

I have worse luck with the F1 car. No actual proof that one is better than the other as far as I can see.

I had ONE freaking total crash during races 5-7, and it must of cost me that final checkpoint by the smallest of margins

Try braking more when approaching other cars and turns. It's always better to slow down than to crash.

I came really close to beating the fourth track on my last run, but I got stupid and didn't slow down enough and crashed.
