+36... and that included two birdies and two pars haha. People were talking about QBert being a difficult participation requirement, this puts all 16 games before it to shame

I think the only way people new to this game are going to put up a decent score this week is to take a ruler and figure out how many inches each club is going to hit it

Fun Fact :

Golf was the first weekly contest i participated in . I have never swung a golf club in my life but always enjoyed playing this game back in the day

lol thanks... I was on track to be at +0 or better until I turned into Happy Gilmore on the green. I only rage-quit this game very 3 or so runs, so hopefully I'll be able to put up a half-decent score before week's end

Yes... Almost every game he starts out "What do I do? I totally suck at this." and then in a few days he's totally mastered it. At least he needed a few weeks of practice beforehand to beat Battletoads. Not even Skinny could grind all the way through that one in a few days.

From what I can tell, the fewer the little white lines, the further the club will hit the ball, but it's tougher to hit the ball. You get very few frames to hit the ball with the 1W.

EDIT: Oops, I see that Toxie already pointed this out. Never mind.

Once you figure out the clubs/angles/wind, it gets easier, but that first hole without a clue how to play is a bitch. I can only thank Toxie for describing the clubs to help me figure it out lol.

For a 2nd attempt, I'll take it.  I had two triple bogeys, a double bogey, and a +6 in the last 6 holes so it was basically a complete meltdown.  Yet I still improved 14 strokes, thanks to the ruler.  So, anyone who claims I'm a quick learner, its just (trying to) play smart

I can also tell by how angry I was getting during that meltdown that this is not going to be a good game to play too much.  If I can beat +10 I'm walking away

I know the temptation is strong on this, but I would advise to not reseting compulsively after a not good/bad first hole, in factt, not until you get a really low score that will be truly hard for you to beat.

A few tips, check your wind direction, it will curve your swing. Also, if you don't land on the white bars during your swing, your ball will curve badly. Those got me the first time around. The pattern on the grass during the putt phase will determine which direction the ball will go. So if you're putting in the same direction as the arrows, use a soft putt, if putting against the arrows, then a stronger putt. You'll get the hang of it.
