My goal was to get over 700,000, which I did. I died with literally one die left on the screen (stupid 2!) and couldn't get to it in time. Lots of great scores on this one which is awesome to see. Seeing as how I'm not a fan of puzzle games at all in the least, I'm surprised at how much fun I had with this one. Think I'll add it to my want list. Thanks bimmy_lee!

I think people who use emulators should be required to record video from here on out, especially when a score gets ridiculously high. It's way too easy to cheat and fake scores with emulation.

I'd love to be able to do that, but I don't have the means to do so. If anyone out there knows of a program that would allow people to record their gaming runs who have to rely on emulators some of the time...basically everyone honestly....please let me know. It would be nice to be able to record some of my good runs and upload them to youtube.

I believe most emulators allow for recording to AVI. Kega Fusion allows it, and has a codec specifically for it. Either way, there's always Cam Studio, which is free.

Ooh! Definitely going to try cam studio!

When you start recording vids, let me know! Would love to check them out man

I totally agree about the idea of videoing the gameplay. I think I'll give that a go next round. I don't want anyone to think I'm cheating, and plus, it'd kind of be fun to see each others' gameplay. Anyone getting really good scores on the actual console should do a vid too, go for the twin galaxies record at the same time!

I will most definitely. I am trying to get a schedule change for my 2nd job,so hopefully after this weekend I'll have weekends off. And I'm probably done with Palamedes. I may try a few more times, but with all the really high scores being posted I'd have to significantly improve on my old score and even then it may not keep me in the top ten. So just put me down for that one point and I'll look to improve next time.

Why not start with this one?

Also, I doubt many people will want to submit to TG as it's $25+ per game.

So I read your post, and think,"Sure, why not?" So I give it another go. I get a new emu that can do avi vids, and start recording. The controls are just a bit more slippery than on my previous emu, but press on. After filming the game for 15 levels, I die on the second to last line. I WAS HOLDING THE RIGHT BLOCK, BUT MISSED THREE TIMES!!! What's worse, is that the last few blocks were sequential, so I could easily have gotten another perfect. So that's why I won't start with this one, I'll never be able to beat my previous score! I got over 700,000; so it wasn't too bad, but still, it's hard to get that many perfects.

Also, I now have a 4 gig .avi file. How can I shrink that for youtube?

I just said that I wasn't making the top ten so give me one point for participation.

Am I the only one who thinks this is what Ikaruga would be like if it were on the nes (except the combos I guess). With all the constant shooting and scrolling through the dice its what I think about whenever I play it.

Found some more time to play and increased my score. I knew some crazy scores would be posted and I'm sure more to come as well.

Well, time to give it one more go, I can't lose my place in top 10! I'll try recording this run, that could be fun.

Good job everyone. Glad you all enjoyed this fantastic game. I just didn't have any more energy to put in to try to beat Toms score, what he got was essentially a perfect run. I don't think it's feasible to perfect level 18.

Yeah, probably. By my calculations, a perfect score would be 1024000. Of course, that many perfects would be ridiculous.

Thanks for writing. I apologize for the delay in responding to your email during this busy time of year.
In regard to your email, it is great to hear that you have found a copy of Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64. Perfect dark was a first person shooter game that was released in May of 2000. I personally enjoyed this game a lot during my mid-teen years since it allows for up to four players to play at one time. All the Perfect Dark cartridges were black.

I hope this information is what you are looking for.

-
Response I received from Nintendo customer support when I asked if they knew any thing about a black Perfect Dark cart.

Not sure if it's perfect, but thanks.  Great job to you as well.  I really thought you might break through and get the 18th perfect.  I keep thinking it's out there!

Yeah, getting 20 perfects might be a bit much to ask, but it's a good dream.  That 1,024,000 score has a nice ring to it.
