Out of curiosity, what is the requirement for "beating" Dr. Mario?

Every 5 levels there is a little cut scene that happens.  I would assume that at some point the cut scene will repeat.  Seeing the last cut scene would constitute the ending.  I can't find any info on how many there are though, so if someone knows, then by all means, please tell

I was playing through it earlier today.  First I got to level 24 on low speed; at that point you just keep replaying level 24 over and over again.  I got up to level 23 on medium speed but failed, so I don't know if it loops.  I beat level 20 on high speed, and got the ending with the UFO.  But again, I don't know if it loops on 24 or if there are more cut scenes past that.

The cut scenes for low speed seem to all be just a static congratulations screen, while medium and high speeds have a little animation.. I'm pretty sure they're the same.

Then maybe beating level 20 on high speed would suffice?  I dunno, I'm not too familiar with the game personally.

EDIT: Or medium speed if the endings are the same as high.  Not really good enough to get that far and find out

But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

A friend and I beat "Legendary Wings" during the summer on 2 players. I had never beaten the game before and owned it all my life (never really put a lot of hours into it though). I found out that all you really need to do is let one player get all the power ups until he becomes an archangel, than that player can protect the other one until he becomes an archangel as well. The game is actually very short (only about 5 levels or so).

I'm not sure what it takes to qualify as beating Bo Jackson baseball, but I've won both a game and a the playoff mode. Bo handed over the trophy and I saw the credits, so I suppose it counts. If not, just let me know what else I need to do.

It really isn't the best NES baseball game, but this is the won I grew up playing. The funny names (Smortz v. Smoltz), the awesome music, and the absurd 'he was safe by a mile! You're out!' cutscene... I loved this game as a kid.

Just raped American Gladiators in 1 run around. Score was 2615 to finish it off.

Thank you community for a great 6 years of collecting, getting to know some of you, and learning more about retro collecting.  NES will always be the heart of my video gaming and I wish you all the best in the future.

Just beat The Adventures of Gilligan's Island.

Been years since I've played it... but I did it. Still not a great game.

I just finished Nintendo World Cup. Argentina and W Germany weren't all that challenging, but Italy demolished me a couple of times before I got through. Still, great game.

Thread up-to-date

Amazingly, after that huge list of Action 52 games that Super Elmo posted, only one was added to the list. The rest he either beat last year, or he already had added to this year's list. I compared the two, and the 9 he is credited for this year are the only ones that he was beaten to last year, so it's up to the rest of NA to knock off the other 43 games...

We can cross the original Jeopardy off the list now; haven't pulled that one out in years (15+, at least). It wasn't really that hard, even on the hardest setting. Other than obscure early-80s trivia, I was pretty solid on most categories.

What is the requirement for Elevator Action? I've made it to stage 50 in the past month or so... but I read that there are 256 levels to it... I cannot imagine anyone getting to that level. It's one of those increasing difficulty games that is just plain endurance.

Also, I've beaten 2 of four games on Quattro Arcade: CJ's Elephant Antics and Stunt Buggies. Still have Go! Dizzy Go! and F-16 Renegade to beat.

I actually can get at least one other Quattro multicart from a store around here. These games are not that bad, actually.
