So, speaking in terms of speculation, what's the next NES or SNES game to jump up in price? Is there another "unknown gem" out there? I know rarity plays into this but I prefer to look at it in terms of "this is a high quality game and needs the love". Any ideas? One of the first ones to come to mind for me is Blackthorne. This game looks great , has a suspenseful atmosphere and the soundtrack just adds to that. B.O.B., Plok, Prehistorik Man, and other "cartoony" platformers tend to be some of the better games as well, imo.

My guess.... Shatterhand and Shadow of the Ninja, I can see them going up in the near future.

Yes the youtubers. As for the next spike, I think you said it: Prehistorik Man. Not common and I am surprised it doesn't already go for 50+

NES - Vice Project Doom. It's a great game and has been on a lot of hidden gem lists, but hasn't experienced the price spike that other good platformers like Bucky O'Hare received.

SNES - No clue. I had predicted Musya but never ended up buying it when it was around $30 around a year ago. Turns out I was right, and now I'm going to have to spend much lot more to buy it, since I really want to play the game.

N64 - Aidyn Chronicles. It took me a long time to find this game CIB so I think it's quite uncommon although the cartridge alone is still easy to find. This game is never talked about; I've heard multiple people say that that the only 3rd party RPG on N64 is Quest 64 which is awful. Everyone forgets about Aidyn Chronicles, which isn't perfect, but has a lot of elements I enjoy in RPGs like very detailed character customization.

Gamecube - Ultimate Muscle. It's a good game, and seems to be rarer than people have realized.

PS2 - ChoroQ. The game is fun, well made and very unique. Also, it's extremely cheap for an Atlus title.

SNES - I'm thinking Pieces is poised to take off. It's pretty hard to find (top 15 rarest maybe?), an ATLUS title, supports the SNES mouse, supports up to FIVE players at once, and multiplayer is damn fun. Trying to frantically build a puzzle the fastest and you can use special moves to screw over your opponents, gets crazy and is a lot of fun.

Any famous YouTube personality tries this with his buddies and has a blast, it'll take off. I'm fairly certain of that.

I think I recall Vice getting up towards $50 then it cooled down.

If ChoroQ jumps up, that'd be one of the biggest spikes ever as I see that game for sub $3 everywhere.

I wanted to like Musya, (and I still need to play it more) but it is very off-putting initially and not worth the scratch imo

In the Hunt for PS1 has Skyrocketed lately, if you can snag a disc for cheap I'd do that. Any awesome disc based beautiful pixel art is about to go nuts. Metal Slug Anniversary for PS2 is up there at $40-$50, expect the PSP and Wii versions to head that way soon.

Actually some serious responses in this thread, not what I expected. I'll throw in a serious response too then.

NES - Terra Cresta

Hard to find Vic Tokai title, especially with box and manual. SHMUP too, and we all know how SHMUPs get hyped. Same exact publisher and same exact rarity as Krion Conquest, which went from a $50 CIB to $150+ in about 6 months last year. Just a matter of time until the hype train hits this one too.

Ditto for another Titus platformer that has been under $50 until now and I still can't figure out why...

Why do people hate threads like this? It's an honest, legit question.

Because I don't want to tell you/publicize the titles that I don't have yet

People don't like threads like this because it makes it seem like you're either looking to figure out what the next jump will be so you can buy and resell, or you have a game you want to pump up because you have a bunch so that you can dump it for a higher price.

Not saying this is your intention, that's just the perception.

Also the real answer is Cornball C***suckers. $200 game by August.

The site has been used to hype up titles to sell so its not just perception, do a bit of digging and you can find what i have over the years. Threads like this can create a self fulfilling prophecy.

Oh I hear ya. I've seen it happen with games and even the Joycard Sansui controller. But yeah, that's why threads like this have a bad reputation.
