I'm very happy they are selling like hot cakes and in demand. I can't believe any Nintendo fan would really wish they weren't making money by having something extremely popular.

I like the fact I can get a $13 link or Mario figure. I preordered all of the first wave and I will continue because I like them. I will open any I want to use, etc. I think it's an awesome time to be a collector for it as this is something I really wouldn't mind collecting. Financially it's going to be a pain for sure....

Does anyone know what retailers have released them early? Is it just walmart again?

Lucario is sold out on Toysrus.com. Meta Knight is still available to preorder from Best Buy. I believe Shulk is still available to preorder from Gamestop.

I'd think Pit, Little Mac, and Captain Falcon are probably going to be the hardest to find. I'm banking on Captain Falcon being the hardest to find, though.

Same dude. I can't believe how many grown adults are losing their shit chasing these things down. They look awful and their function is negligible. IMO. If you want a good figurine look at figma figures.

You know, I often see the "Get a Figma instead" argument.

I don't think you can compare the two. Amiibos are about $13 and have a function attached to them.

Figma's, while very detailed and of better quality, are just $50 paperweights. Apples and oranges.

They also don't have figmas of all the characters Nintendo is bringing over. I've had no luck with figmas. Unless you're buying a character with lots of armor, or a robot, Figmas look like garbage. I'd rather spend $80 and get a legit, fixed-pose figure instead of paying $50 for a Figma that has those ugly joints. Nothing looks smooth on them or natural on them. They're almost as bad as the recent Sonic figures and Street Fighter IV figures. This is also coming from someone who has a couple of them.

I think Amiibos, for the price, look amazing. They're of better quality than most gashapon you can get, and they're of significantly higher quality than most of the toys Nintendo has been shipping to the USA for years. Plus, you get the added value of them being actually useful instead of just another figure.

I, however, think they won't hold their (overinflated) value for more than a couple of months. It's mostly because a lot of kids are probably asking for them for Christmas.

Just checked incoming shipments at work. We are getting 10-20 of most but only 5 Pit and a whopping 2 Little Mac

Might want to start being on the lookout. The only amiibos I wanted to buy were Little Mac, Samus, and Pit, and despite it only being december 10th, the EBgames at our mall had two Little Mac's for sale. Picked up one of them since I wanted it, left the other one not knowing at the time I wasn't really supposed to have seen him yet. I tossed out the packaging at the mall to save some space on the bus ride home, but I do have the figure to prove it.

For what it's worth, I'm located in British Columbia Canada. Found it at Lougheed Mall, so if you're lucky and live close by you may be able to zip over there and grab the one I left behind.

I'm glad they did Amiibos, it's easy money for them.

Don't let the speculators and reseller goofs ruin them for you, they're just little chunks o' plastic.

Managed to get a Zelda from Toys R Us. I have all 6 pre-ordered, but so far they only got Zelda in. They said they had about 6 boxes, so she should at least be one of the common ones to find.

A place near me already has some Diddy Kongs out. Contemplating on whether or not I should pick one up.
