So who's rocking Contra 4?

Beat it on easy last night... started on normal... ugh, its a lot harder. Half as many lives, half as many lives each continue, weapons suck compared to easy, the bad dudes are much peskier and faster. Only got to stage 2 so far on normal on my first couple of goes at it!

WTB Cdn sealed black boxes, sealed Cdn first party titles.    I.e. the "mattel" Cdn boxes with both french and english.   Mainly black boxes, zelda, link, and tyson, but let me know what you have.    I am interested in anything I don't already have!

After not being able to get past level 2 on Normal I pretty much gave up. Never tried it on Easy. Perhaps i should put it back in.

Give it a whirl on easy. Its a lot easier to figure out what to do and how to do beat the bosses. That knowledge will help you back on normal.

PS If you finish it on easy, they don't show you the ending!

I beat it on easy a few days back.  They are definitely withholding levels on easy though.  At least one that I know of.
Having a good time with Challenge Mode now, where I am staring to unlock a bunch of stuff.  I've unlocked both Contra and Super C for NES, which is all kinds of wicked because I love having portable NES games.  The sound on both is pretty bad though unfortunately.  There's at least one unlockable character - "Probotector", though I don't know who he is.  Reminds me of the guy from Battle Unit Zeoth, but I can't remember if that's a Konami title off the top of my head. 


Tip - shut off the voices.  It feels more like the Contra we all know and love, plus hearing the guy say stupid stuff like "Lock and load", adds a cheesy factor to the game that I don't really like

Probotector is what the game is called in Europe, and instead of humans the main characters are robots.

Well on my first run through I made it to level 5 before dieing. Pretty tough one game cause the whole 2 screen thing is a lot to get used to. So much happening on both screens. I think I can beat it on easy before the day is out though. I haven't dared to try it on hard yet...

I made it to level 8 while over at Christy's Xmas day festivities (I was trying to ignore all the loud obnoxious kids) on easy. I haven't even tried it on normal yet to be honest. I want to beat it on easy, then normal and then hard.

I am loving it so far, a bit hard but great. Very old school NES/SNES feel to it.

I just beat it on easy...that wasn't to bad. I still have all 5 continues left 2 Hopefully I can beat it on normal just as quickly

Wow it get SOOO much harder on Normal..geez. I only made it to level 4 on normal my first time through. The challenges are pretty tough, I think I have knocked like 10-12 of those out of the way already and died numerous times. My biggest grip with the game is the unlockable Contra and Super C. I played Super C and the sound has horrendous, I mean terrible. The DS should have been able to process the sound better or something cause it sounded worse than an Atari 5200 game.

Im so glad that someone made this topic, this game blew me away, and im not even that big of a contra fan. Its so awesome, and its action packed, when you think a fight is over, oh boy, you're in for a treat. I can only get to the part on level four (easy mode) where your on the moving rocket, I suck at that part.

   Hello All,
      I just picked up Contra 4 from Best Buy with some holiday money, and boy is that game wicked hard! Damn! I am pretty good at beating games, but I barely made it to the Labratory stage on Easy in the first hour of getting the game. I love the old school challenge---true vintage Contra action!

Yep, waaaaaaaay harder. The worst part is how all of your weapons instantly suck ass on normal.

I haven't had much time to play this since my last post, but I'm also on the level four rocket stage for now.
