DMG, I already said we should beat the games this year. I have no issue with a file started previously, as long as it's never been previously finished. Since that's the case with Pirates, I'd rather not list that one...like I said, I'd knock of Dragon Warrior II like that...hell, I could do that with Romance of the Three Kingdoms II as well. Just doesn't seem like it's really fair to do it that way.

Drew, of course it counts, they were done this year I'll update in a few seconds with all games listed thusfar

Then I shall find me crew and ship out first thing morrow.

You just gave me the perfect excuse to play this again. But just to clarify: Passwords and Saved Games must be from 2010 to be able to be reused?

EDIT: I got it. Passwords and Saved Games may be before 2010 as long as they havn't been used to beat the game before.

Not necessarily, but the game can't be previously completed. That is to say, not firing up and winning in 5 minutes unless for whatever reason you put the game down at that point and never finished using that file.

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

Of games I've finished in the past 2 months: (didn't add them to nes games beat thread since they were 're-beats').

Batman
Battletoads
Battletoads/Double Dragon
Double Dragon
Double Dragon II
Gradius
Life Force
Journey to Silius
Monster in my Pocket
Rainbow Islands

I tend to replay old games rather than move on to new ones.  Hopefully this will inspire me to tackle some games I've never played before. Either way that should knock a few off your list.

Way to shoot yourself into the lead! Two of those were listed already, and I hesitate to change them unless it's due to a title being beaten earlier than Jan. 1 (like Maydogg's completion of Metal Mech). If it wasn't for that, you'd be way ahead

I love this idea. Between this and the weekly competitions, it really keeps me wanting to play more games. Thanks! Also, thanks Maydogg!

What do you consider the end in Track & Field? I don't know if there is a definitive end or do you just count one complete round through the events as a winner?

Wiz this year so far I've beat:
MTPO
Punisher
Friday the 13th
Baseball Stars (I'm assuming beating it means setting up a tournament and winning. I won unbeaten too if that means anything).
Super Dodge Ball
Operation Wolf

I would say winning every event would be enough I suppose.  I want as few games as possible to be uncompletable, so that sounds good for Track and Field.

And Erik, I'll mark you down on any that haven't been completed yet

There's an ending. The events are looping 10 times, and after that's the end.
I reached round 9 in the weekly contest about a month ago... Sorry guys

Someone didn't "steal" it, it was done when you posted in the first place

Well, as long as we're knocking out the easy stuff first, I just raced through all three unique screens of Donkey Kong (unless I'm misunderstanding DK's requirements...). Gonna go back to Twin Eagle after my game over in DK.
