What is even going on at the end of the 2nd level? I was fine on the first two attempts, but then it just beat my ass down. Can't even tell what I'm supposed to be looking at

I'm not sure, but I think I may have already made it further that I did as a kid. I made it to the level passed the silly race and I don't recognize it

To Guts and Gloves (and mbd)...

I was satisfied with posting my score last night, but after Michael talking about how short the game is, and Guts and Gloves talking about just beating the game (and how satisfying is was/would be) - I dug in my heels tonight and decided Marble Madness needed to be defeated.

The last time I played this game I was 7.
My dad rented this game for my brother and I.
Both of us deemed this game as unbeatable.

Thanks to you 3, this "impossible game" can now be checked off my list of NES games beaten.

No way I place this week, but it feels damn good crossing another one off the list.
I learn something new every contest.

Brock, you can DEFINITELY beat this too.

The entire game can be beaten in around 5 minutes.


 

Thanks for the props Santa! Overall the game isn't too bad. That last section of the ultimate race looks insane,but it's not as insane as I thought it was. Still not easy though. Of course I say this with my meager score. I'm sure if I were playing for an ultra high score I would still be saying it's insane.

Yeeaaaahhhh bud! Grats on beating it! It feels amazing eh? I felt so great when I beat Little Nemo about a month ago for the first time ever. Definitely super glad to be revisiting these titles!  

lol. one of my best friends/drunk, hooligan, knucklehead bro would always use "tapeworm" as a game tag. dude was a great MTPO player. use to leave the tv on 14-0 for me to see lol. we would get plastered and play mtpo all the time. i introduced him to super punch out and he flipped out. he "never knew it existed". dude loved marble madness and was great at arkanoid too (no vuas).

I loved watching a run where I felt a human actually performed it.  When you died a couple straight times on level 3 in the same spot it made me smile as I've done the same thing as much if not more in my short time of playing.  Thanks for sharing!  

 

When you die in this game, it sticks you in just the shittiest spots to be in a lot of the time. It's frustrating!
