What's with old Natsume games being expensive? I looked up the price for Wild Guns and of course it's well over $100 for a loose cart.

It was released late in the SNES life and thus not too many were put out in the market.
If you are enjoying this one (what the eff is wrong with you if don't enjoy this masterpiece?), go check the new PS4/PC version. It is just as delightful!

They're really good and uncommon. I don't think they made a single bad game back then.

Except Casper maybe

Wild Guns - 508,050

Always known about this game as a supposed "underrated" title. Now that I've spent some real time with it, I can say that the sentiment is deserved. It's a pretty amazing little package and I know I would have loved it as much then as now...perhaps more, since I could have gotten my brother in on it with me. It's actually surprisingly tough. I don't know if that's due to the "over-the-shoulder" view, the occasionally obscuring target reticle or just the density of enemies in later stages. Needless to say, I need much, MUCH more practice if I'm ever going to attempt to beat the game in a single continue. Oh...and for some reason, I always forget about using the bombs. The action can get so intense and demand so much of your reflexes that I'm too busy shootin' and dodgin' and I forget that I even have them. I could probably get a much higher score if I could work them into my routine. Still, had a great time with it and I know I'll be back for more.

Tiny Toons: Wacky Sports - 3,880

This is one of those games that falls into that awkward category of "playable but mediocre". Unlike some of the games at the bottom of the SNES barrel, the game is functional and *mostly* controls fine. It is, however, also supremely basic and, honestly, rather boring. I've never played it before and I can now appreciate why. I couldn't be bothered to get much further than I did. I did make a few attempts to get through the Normal Difficulty events but...ugh. Just didn't have the stamina for it.

I had this game mixed up with Sunset Riders and was expecting something more Contra-like. But it turned out to be fun once I was used to it being a third person shooter and not Contra.

I will try to post a mod score up for Wild Guns this weekend if I can find time to do a run between destroying my poor fingers at 1943 for the NES tournament, getting my shapely butt kicked online at SSTF2:T and playing SimEarth.

I've been playing a ton of wild guns this month. I was going to wait until the end of the month and drop my score but I don't think I'll be able to top this one. First time I've beat it without dying once.

I will see I can do this weekend, but I think the game caps the score at 9,999,999.

Another dreary month, participation-wise it seems. Rest assured, I am taking a number of steps to fix this next season, which I think everyone will be quite pleased with for a number of reasons

Also, PeaPod has basically clinched with his Wild Guns score, and has already submitted his game for the 2018 schedule. It is a heavy hitter in a heavy hitting lineup that I think will be the best in (any) NA contest's history. I will reveal all in the middle of December.

I actually recently got Wild Guns and played it a bunch the past couple weeks.

Sorry I hardly ever check this forum section.  Had I saw the thread I might have participated.  Maybe next time!

I'm actually still working on the games and will have my scores posted by the deadline.  Don't let the low participation numbers get you down.  I had the same thing happen in the NES contests, but they are bigger than ever now.  Don't worry, Brock, you'll get there with the SNES contests.
