They are literally worthless man. I wish I would have sold mine off during the hype. Same with beenie babies. Best thing to do, is since these are so common, just ebay all the holo's / rares and sell them individually, then, list the rest in one big lot.

There really is no price guide anymore, they are literally worthless.

Well, sell each of the rare cards for $2 / piece shipped. That will still make you $200 after ebay fees and shipping if they all sell Better get to listin' !!!

Darn it...if they were MTG cards, you'd be right to expect a PM from me . I started collecting MTG again here recently :/ ...

What the others have said is true, though: Pokemon cards are barely worth the cardboard on which they're printed.

I guarantee you though, that in the future video game collectors will be wanting the Pokemon and Yu Gi Oh promo cards packed in the GBC and GBA games.

Yeah, I sold a few in middle school. I thought I was a high roller walking around with $80 from selling Pokemon cards daily. Too bad I still have a bunch left that I never sold...

JBO, if you want the base and fossil cards, I could probably sell you mine from those sets after you get done dealing with Wes.

yea I really only like to play with cards that are revised and older. Every once in a while, I buy some of the new cards and incorporate them into my decks for fun.

MTG is starting to seriously suffer from the Pokemon/Yugioh effect of "bigger more better broken"

I remember, as a young teenager, thinking I was a bad mofo because I had a Leviathan in my deck (and yes, I actually played and used him a few times ). And then I learned of Polar Kraken and Phyrexian Dreadnought...

dangevin: OMG @ those Eldrazi...I saw a couple of previews of that set, and it is truly ridiculous what MTG has become versus what it was 10-15 years ago.

Honestly though, whether new cards or old cards, mostly all of those giant creatures suck, and never see play, at a competitive, or advanced level. They are for the newbs, who think giant creatures=win. In actuality giant creatures = giant waste of resources. Your probably already dead by the time you play it, and if not your opponent will just laugh as he pays 2 mana to remove a creature you spent the entire game bringing into play. There are some rare exceptions to the rule.

Funny you mentioned Phyrexian Dreadnought, I'm actually looking for a couple of them for my Type 1 deck

MTG also recently added Ultra Rares -- with any new set, if you want the good cards, expect to open a whole case just to get a full set of one of each of them. They've got red rarity symbols and only show up in about 1 of 6 packs in place of the regular rare.

In every way they've exploited the worst of the market. That new Jace card you want hit the preorders for the last set at $59.99 per copy, non-foil. It's just silly. You pay that for an entire booster box wholesale...but with these "Mythic Rares" you aren't even guaranteed one in three boxes.
