Quick question that I couldn't easily find answered. Do dead characters earn experience?

Is this not easy to check if you're already playing the game?

Dead characters normally don't gain experience points in any RPG. At least not to my knowledge. The only RPG that I've noticed that they do gain XP when dead is Super Mario RPG. But that's the rare case I think. I'm pretty sure the answer here is no, they do not.

No, it is a pretty common RPG thing... you could double check though... look at their EXP points before the battle, let them die and then see if it went up after.

I haven't played this one in years, but I am pretty sure the answer is no. As other posters have said, in most RPGs this doesn't happen.

I ask because I had two characters die during a boss fight. I managed to defeat the boss and the dead characters automatically came back to life. I'm wondering if they missed out on XP.

I'll keep searching. It isn't a big deal, though. Plus, I already overwrote my save file with a newer save.
