Been finding a lot of tools lately. All this stuff set me back just $5. The largest spanner is a 22mm or the 3/4 inch (I can't remember which one is larger)

E. The largest one is actually the weird combination spanner in the 3rd pic. That is more than an inch.

Found this at a church thrift store. I'm pretty sure I am going to get $180 for it (after fees and shipping). Paid $3.

*Edit*  It's this, except without the wooden stand http://www.ebay.com/itm/Franklin-Mint-1965-Seagrave-Fire-Eng...

My 10 year old daughter collects Care Bears and loves thrifting with me. She found a care bear that she knew she had but told me to buy it and sell it (yeah she is pretty savvy). I know nothing about it but i take her word for it.

Sold it for $40 within 24 hours (may have underpriced it).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI....

Also, got a random unmarked package a few months ago. this item was in it. Not notes, return addy or anything. No idea why i got it. I waited in case someone asked about it. No one did so i sold it.

Free $70 in the mail!

Last week I found some pretty great Laserdiscs at a thrift store that I hadn't been to yet. Which was awesome, since I NEVER find laserdiscs at thrift stores, or any stores at all in general.

How well does it work anyway? Does it play tapes clearly?

Actually haven't tested this one yet because we are finishing up some house renovations before Thanksgiving, so I've been in a rush around while at home.

Normally though, these things last forever mechanically, especially these earlier ones.  Dirty heads are an easy fix, but the biggest problem on one of this age is the belts which turn everything will deteriorate and turn to a mushy goo.  They are easy to find kits for online an can be fixed pretty easily though for a few bucks.  The main job is cleaning the rubber goo off the pulleys with some alcohol and q-tips.

Retro looking VCR's like that look awesome. But I don't really like VCR's in general. Ever seen any laserdisc players at any thrift stores? If you do see one then pick on up! Laserdiscs don't look as good as DVD's, but much much much better than VHS.

I actually prefer laserdiscs over DVD.  The resolution is a bit lower, but the picture is true uncompressed analog, so you don't get those pesky little compression squares like with DVD.  They are hard to find at thrift stores though.

Yeah, I got my Laserdisc player on ebay. It was a bit pricey, but it was worth every penny.

Nice finds Ken. That Micro Machines set is awesome.

I assume you just liked the old VCR's looks as I assume they hold little value?

I had some great Micro Machines sets from childhood and practically gave them away ($5 for all) at a yard sale a few years back to some kids who were playing with them.  This lot had a few of the items I had as a kid though, which was cool.

Yeah, the VCRs wont make you rich but you can ebay them for a few multiples of what I paid.  The early ones are much higher quality and old school tech junkies like them.

Been wanting another Mower to pull apart and found this today for $15. I might of over-paid but I saw Briggs and Stratton and new I had to have it. Can't find any info. Just if you guys can't tell, to kill the engine you just turn the knob. I was thinking it wasn't going to start but first pull it went and is running great.

Also, there is no primer on the carby, the fuel just runs straight into the engine.

Okay, so I didn't really find these as much as I found out I can finally buy these on the internet.

These are the worst named most horribly delicious chips I've ever had the wondrous misfortune of eating. The company is small and operates hundreds of miles from where I live so I rarely ever run into them but despite having not eaten these in years I could still recall how amazing they are.

They are very deceptive chips and it all came back to me as I tried them after so long. The first chip is good but nothing special. But then as you eat a few more they grow on you. There is something about them. Eventually you will run into "that one chip." What makes them amazing is they add spice to them but it is so sublime it is not obvious until you get "that one chip" that got a dash more flavor than the rest and from that point on you're chasing the dragon.

If they use crack on these chips I would not be surprised.

Picked this up today from Goodwill, $9.00 total. I purchased them to just open and display since I liked that show as a kid, but looking at eBay, lol, I'm selling these things.

I found two of these.

I found these at goodwill the other day. I think they were donated from Target. I thought that was odd, because of the fact that it is discontinued, it is worth 55$. I bought two of them for $7.99 each.
I really wanted to keep them because I think the card game is interesting, but I would rather have video games.

They came out years ago, but I think you can still pick them up somewhere. Ebay should have a few at least. Search for "Jumbo Grade Gundam". I also got the red zaku from the series and another rx-78-2.

Other non-gaming pickups recently:

Covenant of Primus book with cool autobot logo case. Makes transforming sounds as you open the logo case up.

Wizard laserdisc and some classic cartoon/anime DVDs. Already had the first release of the Robotech DVDs, but heard this new set has a bunch of extras. Also already have shadow chronicles on blu-ray, but wanted the new Robotech movie love live alive. The complete Captain Harlock series is an official US released box set. Lastly, a box set of all the japanese g1 series (after the us series ended).

I inhearited my father In-laws Laser Discs when he passed away... They take up so much space though, lol (comming from a vinyl collector like me that sounds funny)

^^They are huge, but nowhere near as bad as the CEDs I have. Each of those is like the thickness of 2-3 laserdiscs and the weight of 5 or so, basically just vinyl records with thick heavy plastic cases. So impractical of a thing to collect (I have around 100)
