Hey guys! im feeling like shit so im just gonna start this one out early this weeks game is super mario brothers 2, gonna be a fun week heres the rules

Most extra lives gathered (Through hidden 1-ups and the bonus game)
   Players can press pause at any time during gameplay to display their number of lives
   For players with the same # of lives, tie breaker is earliest level displayed
   Participation: 6 lives maybe

Ends next sunday at 9 pm central time
take a picture with your name no name=scores not valid!

35 lives. Lot of stupid deaths due to my d-pad being somewhat broken. I think I actually had one more at one point but I forgot to get the screenshot.

I need to work on my timing in the bonus rounds. I've always had trouble getting it right... I know you have to hit it quickly once the slot starts to get a cherry in slot 1, and then time the 2nd and 3rd evenly, but knowledge and skill are two different things. Now if the goal of the bonus round were to get two snifits and an onion I'd be in the triple digits!

Worked on this today and did a lot better than the last time, but I probably could've had a better score (I think I died at least 10 times ).  Not sure if I can do better than this.  I ight give the game another run tomorrow, but I don't feel like sitting through it again.  Did a bit better on the bonus stages this time around, but my timing could still improve by quite a bit.

i hate this game with a passion
with respawn of enemies at the worst time, terrible game play, and you cant heal your self to save your soul. to hell with doki doki panic!!!!!!!!!

sorry about the last post i tried to brighting it up but didnt work.

Well, I lost too many lives to salvage this run. Don't think I'll be making another attempt. It took long enough to get this... nearly a week of practice and I couldn't beat scaryspice. Hats off to you, sir. And there is of course OSG's ominous threat still looming...
Here is my tip for the bonus slots: smash the A button as fast as you can! fast as you can now!! sadly, this is the best strategy I've been able to come up with... patiently learning the timing through trial and error just wasn't working out for me.
Here is my shamefully exploitive looked-up-on-a-faq tip: find a spot where there's a lotta grass. toss potion. enter dreamworld. pick grass. kill self before dream ends. normally the game only gives you two shots at picking coins but if you die before the dream ends, it doesn't count. Of course, you sacrifice a life or two but hopefully in exchange for many more?
Oh, and the funny thing is, the game only allots one character for your coin count so it has to use letters and symbols when you go over 9. At my peak I had something like "?" or "." many coins...

^^Thanks Brad. I probably could've had a better score, probably at least 82, but I had a bunch of stupid deaths. But, I can't complain about 72 though. That's still pretty decent. Although, OSG and Guillavoie will probably destroy my score by tomorrow night
