Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the Weekly Contests!  This week’s game is going to be Starship Hector.  Here are the rules:
 

• Play a 5 Minute match
• Play until Game Over or the match is up
• Take your picture on the High Score screen
• Highest score wins
• GENRE: Shooter/Shoot 'Em Up

 
The contest ends Sunday, 5/31/15 at 11 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

Worst Hudson Soft shooter ever. I've never put any real time into this game ever, and I'm a huge shooter fan. Guess it's time to finally learn the 5 min Caravan mode.

I actually really like this game. I think it may be the hardest nes game I've ever played.

Is it safe to assume that I can't play this on the Super Famicom Caravan Shooting Collection for this contest?

True. I've actually been playing this game off and on for the past 2 weeks trying to beat it. I can no death it up to stage 4 and get to level 5. I think this game may be harder than Battletoads. Just so many things to dodge and/or kill. My current score maxed out the time limit. The other two really good runs I had timed out as well. The M5 at the top right will count down when it gets really close.

Bert,I noticed the Hector on your screen is gold. The words Hector change to gold once you beat it. Plus your spaceship turns into a little astronaut guy. Are you holding back your real score?

Hmmm...I don't know what to tell ya.  That picture was from the first time I played the game yesterday.

Huh...that's odd. Maybe it's a variant? Ah whatever. I just figured you had beaten it.

So, I tried it again, and it's just the way my phone takes the picture.  Turns purple to gold!

Just tried this one out. I did three attempts and already my shooting hand hurts! No score though because I didn't read the rules to find out we are doing 5-minute mode.
