Hell yeah to both.  Twisted Metal 2 was the game that made Matt and I sell our N64 and buy a PS1.  Hands down one of the best games on the system and still likely in my top ten favorite games of all time.

Hey, how about Rogue Trip?  It get a lot of hate, but I loved this game.  Very clever tourist concept, surprised it never caught on.

Eve of destruction is the best hands down. One word: Soccer! But you gotta forget that PS2 nonsence, 4 controller ports on the Xbox FTW.

For me, its hands down Twisted Metal 3. If you used the cheat codes, you could make it possible to use Sweet Tooth and shoot people off the stage. Glitching was so much fun. Also Vigilante 8 for the PS1 was wonderful in its day.

So how about FlatOut was released on the Wii December 3rd, 2010 and I watched a couple YouTube videos of the game play before making the $19.99 purchase. Wow, I just saved myself 20 bucks. The game looks absolutely terrible, plays completely different and received a rating of 3 out of 10. I'm pretty sure that it has something to do with a different developer.

Has anyone played Glacier 2 for the Wii? Are there any good demolition derby games for the Wii now or to be released?

I love Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal 2. They were the reason why bought a PS1 instead of N64. Man I glade I made the right choice.

I own that arcade cabinet actually. Used to be my favorite game when I was younger so I had to buy it. The game still holds up today. The music and sound effects are awesome. Seems to me, Grand Theft Auto borrowed a bit from this game to create their original series on the PS1. Same overhead view, you could get out of your car and fight, etc..

Were you able to get the Multiplayer (over the internet/network) to work correctly?  My buddy and I tried to get it working for the longest time and could never get it to connect.

I originally downloaded Carmageddon 2 as a demo and instead of people it was zombies.  For some reason, I think that the demo was much different than the actual released game.  It was still a blast though.

Has anyone ever played this coin-op arcade game by Bally?  http://home.comcast.net/~lancelotDave/DemoDerby.htm

Wow, I completely forgot about that game Michael. An arcade in my hometown had that game growing up, although it was only a 2 player stand up arcade cabinet. I spent a lot of quarters on this game, when I wasn't busy pumping them in Mortal Kombat 2 and Terminator 2 pinball. It was a very simple, but fun game.

It's been over two years since I updated this thread. Are there any new demolition derby games that I should add to the list?

I'm getting excited for BugBear's "Next Car Game", as seen here: Next Car Game. Anyone know what this is about?

I'm on board with Twisted Metal 2 and Destruction Derby 2. Played the HECK out of those.

However, I do see Burnout 3 is missing from the list.

Using a firetruck equipped with Nitrous to cause millions of dollars in damage and cause complete mayhem in crash mode is still one of my favorite things to do.

As a kid I used to play DeathTrack (DOS version) all the time. Really great title screen music, and cool looking cars to choose from. Great upgradable weapons to choose from.

Check out my comic, The Scientists. It's like a "Genius-centric 'Goonies' that can turn thriller at any moment".

Flatout 2 all the way! My friends and I would have some crazy LAN parties playing that game and it always got intense. Tons of modes and vehicles, definitely the best demolition game

Have you played DeathTrack Resurrection?

I want to say that I bought something like that for the Wii and it wasn't very good.  I couldn't find the exact title on GameStop's website.  Also, I remember seeing a destruction derby game for the PS3 that was completely black and white (during gameplay) and the title of that is eluding me also.
