I hope I wasn't alone in jumping on board in the last day of the campaign.
(with so many popping up in the last year, I honestly questioned whether I had already bought it, or not, before looking through my kickstarter history)


One of my favorite things about these kickstarters, though, is the advent of developers reliably being able to monetize the ROM as a "digital release".

With so many alternate ways of playing classic games (i.e. handheld emulators or hacking the SNES classic, or even RetroPi-based arcade cabinets), it gets tougher to justify buying physical NES releases when I have trimmed down my physical collection so aggressively over the last few years.

But having a digital release, where I don't have to worry about the eventual death of my CRT, or having my gaming time exclusively in the room where my old NES lives, is a nice level of flexibility.


I hope it has given you and other devs a much wider reach than the "old days" of 5 or 10 years ago where physical releases were the only practical way to go. 

 

It looks like it takes ~two weeks for Kickstarter to send the funds my way, so until that time comes I've opened up pre-orders on my website so you can continue to order until I actually place the order with all the various people to get the materials.

Bought a CIB on the pre-order site since I missed the Kickstarter. The pre-order was not easy to find at all! Plus the store was confusing the item is listed as ROM only - you have to go into the ROM only and then change it to CIB pre order.

Make it easier for me to buy stuff!!!

 

Shipped out 160 copies so far. All non-$150-tier US/Canada/Mexico orders should be shipped this week.

There was an issue with ~28 of the posters that we received from Vistaprint, so we have to wait until those replacements arrive (estimated Thursday next week) before we can ship out all the $150 tier orders.

All international orders should be shipping to France by the end of this week/early next week for Antoine from Broke Studio to disperse for us.

Digital orders should all go out this weekend.

All post-Kickstarter orders from my website should be shipped this week also.

I got my copy in the mail yesterday. Game, box and manual all look great. I played for about 30 minutes last night and am digging it so far. I have no idea how far I got, but, I did get past the slide puzzle which I was super excited about because I am horrible at them and just brute force them until I can figure them out.

My Khan Games store order still says awaiting processing on the website unless there was no mechanism to mark orders completed or shipped.

I will be shipping all Kickstarter rewards prior to shipping the website orders, as they purchased first and have priority.

Got my copy yesterday, just popped it in today and got the start menu puzzle right away! Then got into the first room and I'm totally lost lol. I'm glad it's difficult to prolong the experience. Looks BEAUTIFUL and I like the music. Going to put some hours into figuring this out I'm sure.

Sorry, the bug set me back a bit. Hoping to get all website orders shipped Monday. It's really overwhelming trying to juggle everything.
 

Got ~200 copies re-flashed today to fix the bug that was found. We are back on schedule now.

Going to box up the stuff going to France tomorrow along with the website orders, assuming everything goes according to plan.

Update: I got through the first few tricks in that room, then got pulled away from the game for a bit, but I'm on to a few things so I think I can get it. Brilliant game thus far, I like the interactivity of things and the hints are subtle but not totally ridiculous.

Mine arrived the other day and aside from a user error on my part with my console, the entire package is better than I expected. Great job Kevin!

KHAN Games, I can't afford to pay for the game through PayPal. Can you add to the site the ability to pay directly from the card?

It's already there. After you click "Pay with Paypal" it should pop up this window which will allow you to pay by card.
