Lol I just beat my Rainbow Road time after 4 glasses of champagne. I also beat my ghost valley time and now have phone pics of everything.  I might try Mario Circuit 3 some more but I also might be done.  Bowser's Castle 3 is a piece of shit and I hate it, fucking comes down to random luck and that is unforgivable.

I kind of wish I had started this a lot sooner in the month, oh well.

Yeah, as you can see from my time I only beat Bowser's Castle once and was done with it. Basically didn't make any major mistakes and missed the thwomps every lap which was good enough for me, even though the time is still not great. Surprisingly Rainbow Rd was probably the most fun out of all the tracks. Bowsers and VL were crazy annoying even to get the medicore times I did.

I will do final updates on verifying everyone's times tomorrow when I'm on my work PC since that setup is easier to manage this with

I also forgot how frustrating the two May games are... I think I'll be allowing people to use up all the continues for Super Empire Strikes Back

Damn you I made an extra run of Mario Circuit just to pass your overall time. I knew you'd come back for more though since we were so close. I don't have any time (or desire) to play more.

I think Ive reached the capacity at what a normal person at this game can do. Those top 2 guys just no the skid hopping boost stuff and know too many little things for me to catch them. Im glad I got in the 7 minute and sinle digit seconds. Didnt think Id make it in the 6 minutes. Just too hard.

The one level that could be improved by me probably is Bowsers Castle 3. Had one semi good run and called it quits. I could do 4-5 seconds better but everytime Im on pace for it I get thwomped on lap 4 or 5 with zero chance to get through. Thwomps in this damn game are ridiculous. They fall whenever they want so you can really even time going under them sometimes or theyll just fall early.

Im most proud of the vanilla lake time

Pretty much how I feel. Getting better times overall would have taken exponetially longer than my current times. Just no patience for VL (which I actually spent more time than I would of liked) and I played Bowser's Castle all of 5 or 6 times total. I'm not proud of any of my times.

Nice times there, Pegboy... That's some dedication.

Scoreboard updated. I'll double check everyone's math here, and do another pass through the threads to make sure I got everyone, but right now pegboy is our unofficial winner

Yeah I think the point structure should be awarded something like first = 10, second = 6, third = 3, 4th = 2, everyone else = 1 or something to that effect.  This would create more competition, as is now there is basically no incentive to get a high place since you still get a shit ton of points for 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.  Oh well, not like I will actually be playing for an overall win anyway.

A first or second place win should be worth significanty more than a 5th place or whatever, but now it's not.

There will be changes to the point structure next year, specifically to help tie into a tournament. I'm unsure yet as to whether I'll follow the NES thread lead on that one.

It was fun coming back to play this one, I hadn't touched it in probably 10 years but it is and always has been my favorite racing game. It was refreshing to see that my Rainbow Roads skills were still there, and I somehow got my best time drunk off my ass on champagne. I did have to put a bunch of time into Vanilla Lake 2 as I was never any good at that track and my original score was in the 58 second range.

I really wanted to get a Ghost Valley time in the 1:02 range but could never get the shortcut jump for the full race (got 4 laps once but failed on the 5th...fuck).

I might continue working on some of these times, I'd like to at least break all those Twin Galaxy "records". What I like about this game is I don't need huge blocks of uninterrupted time to play it since I don't have much free time these days.

Now that the contest is over, mind showing us how you were able to make that jump?

I'd also like to see how you guys dipped into the 55 and lower on VL2.  Very impressive stuff!
