I can get far, a few stages short of the end, but can't beat it.

Battletoads, eh? I've beaten it 5 times. I was just thinking about playing it again too. This should be fun.

Ugh, that can happen in Battletoads? I hate it when that happens. Totally ruins the contest.

We might as well be calling this a "First to 1 million" contest, because that's what it is. Bah humbug.

For games like this, this is where the 1 life rule should come into play. Should've had it for Snake Rattle n Roll, if only we had known then about the score rolling over.

Alrighty, I guess I'll get things started this week for the contest.  Using the 1 life rule, I made it halfway through level 3 when I missed a jump because my timing was off.  I'm almost certain I can do better than this, as I can get through the jetbike portion of level 3 without too much trouble.

I haven't had a chance to even try it yet, just took Trojan out of my NES a little while ago, but can't see me being able to play anything else for the next two days, sucks having to share a tv. Hopefully I can at least get in a few tries before time is up on this one, not that it'd matter that much, probably die first thing in the usual spot, in the ice caverns (that slope that you have to run down and jump over spikes, with the low overhang,  with snowball rolling down after you), sometimes I get lucky, but most of the time I lose a few lives here.

Frog fried by the sun while surfing. Nice. Flash is in just the right spot.

Put Battletoads in my NES a little while ago, can't sleep, so when I get the chance going to be giving this some tries later.

is it allowed to use emulators of the game for it?

Okay, finally got a bit of time to play this game. Played over a dozen times, but most 1st deaths were occurring way too early, stupid places, first stage (pathetic, died against the dragons twice, once against the boss, and twice getting knocked into a pit by pigs), second stage (uh, damn crows, snipped my cable, also die once to the retroblasters), and a few in the third stage (twice on the multi-jump section of the speed bike part-damn jump button didn't respond, once by some stupid rat that I missed a punch, bastard knocked me into the pit). Got to stage 4 twice, took pics, but oddly both deaths were to a snowman that I usually don't ever even get hit by (1st time I got juggled by his snowball, hit once, then again right as my toad was standing up, and then again, never had a chance to move, 2nd time was a one hitter, had full health, bam, dead from one snowball, ouch), never made it to the hard part of the stage. Not sure if I'll be able to get another chance to play in the next couple days, or if I'm in the mood by then, probably the best I'm going to be able to do anyway.


Woah, I just realized something, we got the same score!


A little bit better on score, though wasn't really trying for score, more for distance, but still ended up dead by the same snowman, ugh, two times in a row, that sucks, should've been quicker about getting behind him.

I am hardly an expert on the rules, but I am pretty sure emulators are allowed, just don't use any "features" that you wouldn't have on a normal NES.

Here's my first attempt; took a nasty spill in level 8.  Anyone know how to convert an FCEUltra movie into mpg or avi?
