Starting with today!

Turbo Duo no cords found it in a pile of Atari 2600's at a swap meet today!

Cannot wait to test it out!  I have a mono AV cable and controller already!

The console was pretty dirty almost Biohazard dirty, she cleaned up quite nice though!  Took it apart and everything was all intact no apparent burnt internals or signs of someone tinkering inside!

Now to find an AC adapter!

Seems a bit beat up but damn that's so nice to see one of those again as I miss mine at times. Had a hell of a lot of fun with the CDs mostly from Ys Book to Gates of Thunder or Dracula X, though there were some damn fun cards like Bomberman 94, some Tengen arcade titles, Bonk's and so on.

Yeah the camera is really showing the imperfections, But for 10 bucks and if it works its a gem for sure!

Think I will venture to Goodwill or Radio Shack and see if I cannot score a 10v proper polarity AC Adaptor, The hard part is going to find one with the right size female plug this one is quite large.

I was hoping my Turbo CD AC adapter I had would work, It fits but its the wrong polarity and voltage.

Ahh the scratches aren't really what caught my eye, just the missing hucard slot door is all. That lame texturing/plastic they used for the Duo is super prone to scuffs and scratches. Goodwill you may be able to find it, but Radio Shack while more expensive will have it either stand alone or a multi-volt switcher plug.

Oh yeah small update, The Turbo Duo is dead, BUT I have been tinkering with it after making a powersupply for it.

I just need to get it repaired I am 99% sure its a dried up capacitor problem, I managed to get the Hucard section to post but the screen is scrabled beyond anything reconizable so its slowly going to awake from its long coma!

Oooh nice. I really wish I'd stumble on one of those some day locally. Early in the NES period, had a neighbor with one and I'd so get lost in that thing for hours with Star Trek and some of the others.

Yeah its a neat system, probably one of the most unique game consoles to ever hit the market. I been playing the hell out of Mind Storm (built in game). I need to aquire some carts for it!

Yeah I've played the hell out of that one, did the football a few times(not a fan), star trek, and a few others that I can't remember right now. You know someone awhile ago(few years or so) made an all in 1 vectrex cart with a menu that fires up ALL the games. Sure you don't have the overlays, but hey it's easy to get what you want and just keep the game in the slot.

on the multicarts there is the Kelly multicart which is the best one around. he had the rights to do all the old games from CGE. They are expensive though, they go for $150+ on ebay, there is a guy in europe who makes one for about $40 or so that is pretty good, doesn't have all the homebrew, and other stuff that the kelly multi-cart has. it is one of my favorite systems, i have most of the US library CIB, still need Polar Rescue and Star Castle though

Yeah I'm speaking of the legit one, but when it first was out they went I think for $75 shipped...figures greedy bastards would drive the value up on it. I'd be happier paying the little extra if it's that bad getting real ones.

I will probably just go for the 40.00 dollar one in Europe, I dont really need all the home brew stuff and later down the road if I decide to venture that route I know were I can get those Kelly carts local.

I really want to play Scramble and Web Wars!

I wouldn't want the homebrew either, but a multi-cart with all the legit releases I'd be up for if the price was right.

Mmmm Crash and the Boys, I still need to re-acquire that one to round out my localized Kunio games with the known big head style (or I could get Renegade and have them all.) Either way with that, Harvest Moon, Soul Blazer, and a few others there it's quite impressive.
