For those who dont know, there is a save shortcut in both of the Zelda games for the NES. Im not sure if this works with the re-releases for the GBA

Press  UP and A on the second controller, and it will take you to a menu to save your game.

How many of you guys (and girls) wish you knew this years ago? The only way known then was to Die off.

it's on page 15 in the manual, it's one of those things that most people just didn't know about like being able to control the ducks in duck hunt was in the manual too.. (hmm tips on duck hunt in the zelda manual?) I knew about the duck hunt one back in the day but not the zelda saving bit.

If you have any GBA signage or kiosk I would be interested. Please send me a PM because I'm only here about once a month now but I'm still VERY interested in large system signage or small playable kiosks related to the GBA.

It's nice if you're going for a no-death playthrough though.

. Hot dogs and beer. Can't go wrong there. Also, I didn't know about this. That's pretty harass. I didn't know you could control the ducks either.

The manuals themselves mentions that you can end your game (and save if you want) at any time. Boy they sure put in a LOT of effort into even some of the earliest NES manuals didn't they? Nice full color glossy pages, really helped you use your imagination, the manuals could even be up to 60-70 pages for huge RPG or quest sorts of games. But like Cranky Kong said in the Donkey Kong 64 manual, "they're saving all the really good stuff for their strategy guide" and apparently now you're lucky if you even get a manual at all?

I wouldn't call any of the black box manuals anything to write home about. Nor any of the silver box Konami manuals.
