I really love this game. Been a while since we played it, last contest I found was 2014? This used to be a contest staple.

In the 2013 tourney I was playing with 1 life and made it to Krang but I just absolutely could not beat him. This time, I will enter Krang with several lives as a buffer because I know I can 1-life the rest of it.

Played last night, and again this morning. On my latter run I made it to the red boss (level 7), and foolishly started fighting before picking up the pizza. At any rate, I had some silly deaths beforehand - there isn't a good reason to die at all on the snow level.

Look at captain nice guy. Sheesh. Bunch of friendliness in here. Bah! 

Anyway im going to try to tap the grinder this week. Hopefully I can hang with the top tier because it looks like it’s going to be a doozy!!!!

I think I can beat this in three lives. I did a practice run this morning and beat the game but I had to continue once.

I'm just curious what the winning score will be. I'm not sure what's theoretically possible, but I would think 705 is the high (low) watermark to shoot for.

One has to wonder if there's any way to glitch enemies off the screen without taking points for them...

I doubt that I'll place high this week. I'm a Double Dragon expert, but the best I've done in this game is reach the stage 3 boss.

i feel like tmnt2 is easier than any double dragon.

One of my favorite NES games as a kid, still a lot of fun.

I know I can shave a few more points. I had two sloppy deaths. There no way this rock solider should have taken a rest. That headless ninja always kills me once. And I usually lose a life to Crang.

My deaths were mostly sloppy too.  I don't see why I can't clean them up and do better the next time.

I have pretty solid techniques for all of the bosses except for Rocksteady and Bebop, if you can believe that.  Thankfully they have less HP so I can just wing it!

Oh yes, I can believe that. I always have my problems with Bepop. I also lost my first life while fighting Bepop in my run. But I made it to Krang with my next life, losing one there and the last one during the battle with Shredder.

 

Bebop and rocksteady are a breeze for me. The only difficult boss battle for me is that freaking headless samurai. 

I should have beat shredder on that last run last run but I lost a sloppy death to krang
