I think most internet wrestling fans are having a hard time letting go what they once were. The attitude era is gone. Ecw is dead, people need to get past that. I honestly don't think that style would even work this day in age. I see it all the time, "fuck the pg era", and it's sad. Vince is a business man, not a booker, and he's doing whatever will make his company grow bigger, and right now it means branching out to various forms of entertainment and not just wrestling. I mean, if people only want the hardcore high impact wrestling, why has no other organization gotten as big? ROH is a great company, and they're a prime example of great wrestling and still being edgy isn't enough to make it wwe level. Secondly, when I first got into wrestling it was pg then, so what's the difference now?
Anywho, I don't think people actually want the hardcore and blood anymore, they just want it to be cool again. Ya know, during that era it was cool be a wrestling fan, unlike before you were considered white trash liking that fake crap, and now days it's kinda the same. People think I'm weird cause I love wrestling, even though 13 years ago everyone did. I'm going to still watch even when it's bad. Honestly I don't think right now is all that bad. Sorta like TNA right now. If you forget all the behind the scenes crap, you still get a decent product, but it seems the the behind the scenes is overshadowing whats on screen. Yeah it's hard to overlook, but you just have to. If wwe hadn't done so many ppvs in a row and stuck to one a month, the product might be better, but we're focusing on their mistake, and not focusing on the product, which is still pretty decent. Summerslam was bad ass, and I think all will agree, so it's not like it was that long ago they were on the right track. The spring also had a bit of a lull too. They bounce back, and a lot of the shit was just for the bigger picture, which seems like what right now is too, the slow build up to wm.
