Not to cut in here but does anyone dig the pre-Attitude stuff? I realize it was cheesy as all hell but I really can't get into the new guys.

I liked the promos a lot more pre-attitude. Can anything match this?

...the answer is no.

To be honest, the only promos I can stand post-early nineties are the ones Mick Foley cut. There are a few good ones here and there but overall, Foley all the way for this dude.

I thought jake the snake cut some great promos.

Not sure if I agree with Ziggler vs Sandow.

Savage, hogan, jake the snake, warrior, honky Tonk, million dollar man, piper, etc. all cut amazing promos, even if they didn't make since, they're way more memorable than cm punks "pipe bomb", which was more of him whining on the ramp.

I really enjoy Honky Tonk Man's internet shoots. He was a bit of a dick when I met him though and tried to hustle me for an autograph for like $20 more than he charged my buddies an hour before. Virgil was way worse though, who wants a Virgil autograph without a Ted Debiase autograph?

Have you guys been following Jake the Snake and DDP's Yoga thing? Nothing better than a redemption story.

Last night I watched WWE: The Top 25 Rivalries in Wrestling on netflix. It was great. It's long (almost 3 hours) but it wasn't slow at all. Definitely check it out.

I live in Georgia and DDP has been on the local news a couple times. Pretty cool how limber he is at his age and what he has put his body through. Lex Lugar is also all messed up, he is semi paralyzed and can barley walk. He helps others that are paralyzed. I think he needs to buddy up with DDP and do some Yoga.

yeah DDP is doing a lot of good for our favorite demon ridden wrestlers. i smile every video at scott halls recovery. the bad guy could prolly still go if he took better care of himself, since he never was injury prone. Mick Foley's been invited to the "accountability crib" to help get into shape, but he's declined. He may not have the demons, but I'd like to see him in not so much pain. Hell, he can't even put his shoes on, he's so crippled. For me personally, i thought about trying it. i could use a significant weightloss, but i cant wrap my head around working out to a dvd. And yeah, Lugers in bad shape, but thats not wrestling injury related. Good to see him do the turn around, even if it took the death of Miss Elizabeth to do it.

So what are the thoughts on Hulk Hogan? His contract with TNA just expired. Does anyone think that maybe he will join the Vince Kiss my Ass Club?

if you notice wwe devalues hogan every chance they get. he used to be a top 3 wrestler on any list because of what he did in the 80s but now when wwe puts a list together he is barely in the top 25. they want to market their attitude era stars as all time legends which is not to say they arent but wwe has been minimizing hogan since he left the last time.

i could see him coming back for appearances similar to what mick foley and steve austin do

All I got to say is the WWE pay per views have been terrible lately. One title changes now tops. It's like watching an episode of Raw. At least the Rhodes won. Watching Raw now. Sure it's going to set everything up for another month of the same.

When I was without cable I just waited a day and watched it on youtube the day after or live streamed it from sportsbun.com (which I still use for most pay-per-views), the quality isn't the best but whatevs. Free is free.

lately?  Summerslam was 3 ppv's ago, and it was the best of the year by far.  But yeah, they last 2 are stinkers, and HIAC will prolly blow too.  You could tell on raw last night that they are really rushing it by annoucing the matches right away, and not letting anything build up.

And what was up with that voting last night between booker, backlund, and michaels?  When Shawn walked out, there was no way in HELL anyone else had a chance.  Was glad Mr Backlund got 32% of the vote though.  I thought I was the only one who cares about him.

The Rhodes Family/Shield match was by far match of the night at Battleground. But as a whole the last 2 ppvs have been glorified RAWs at best. Which is why most of us on here don't pay for them

I'm kinda disappointed Cena is coming back for hell in a cell. I was enjoy'n whats best for business, and he's going to take it into a very predictable direction. But perhaps it's all a plan to get him on smack down. I think that's what's best for business.

Battleground looked bad from what I heard. Hell in a cell doesn't look great either.

Why is cena getting a world title shot? Or is it just Cena 101?

Battleground was a waste of a PPV, I don't know why they would even consider having two PPV in one month, it just weakens both of them.

The question is why hasn't WWE cloned John Cena so we can see him in every match of the night.

The majority of things within WWE have became very predictable over the past couple of years, mostly since the CM Punk angle that happened. They provide nothing of interest that wants people to keep coming back every week, or throw money at them to watch a PPV, hence why their numbers are down all across the board. Hell, even WM's haven't even been that interesting.

Check out this really awesome WTB thread that I found, I heard this guy wants games at the cheapest rate possible!  Now on the look out for Unlicensed NES!

Yeah you know they're in bad shape when it seems that the only way to get big draws is to bring in the part-timers who have semi-retired from wrestling. The late 90's was a different era (im talking outside of wrestling as well), super edgy and exactly what they call it Attitude Era. For example, South Park first season (and arguebally second) was gangbusters. It still does well and has a very dedicated fan base, but hasn't even come close to what it was before. Dare I say... wrestling will always have a core group of fans but I have a hard time seeing ratings being improved. People just don't care anymore.

I want a return of the Mean Street Posse maybe even have them merge with Spirit Squad for a Mean Squad Posse. Now THAT would put asses in the seats...

I think most internet wrestling fans are having a hard time letting go what they once were. The attitude era is gone. Ecw is dead, people need to get past that. I honestly don't think that style would even work this day in age. I see it all the time, "fuck the pg era", and it's sad. Vince is a business man, not a booker, and he's doing whatever will make his company grow bigger, and right now it means branching out to various forms of entertainment and not just wrestling. I mean, if people only want the hardcore high impact wrestling, why has no other organization gotten as big? ROH is a great company, and they're a prime example of great wrestling and still being edgy isn't enough to make it wwe level. Secondly, when I first got into wrestling it was pg then, so what's the difference now?
Anywho, I don't think people actually want the hardcore and blood anymore, they just want it to be cool again. Ya know, during that era it was cool be a wrestling fan, unlike before you were considered white trash liking that fake crap, and now days it's kinda the same. People think I'm weird cause I love wrestling, even though 13 years ago everyone did. I'm going to still watch even when it's bad. Honestly I don't think right now is all that bad. Sorta like TNA right now. If you forget all the behind the scenes crap, you still get a decent product, but it seems the the behind the scenes is overshadowing whats on screen. Yeah it's hard to overlook, but you just have to. If wwe hadn't done so many ppvs in a row and stuck to one a month, the product might be better, but we're focusing on their mistake, and not focusing on the product, which is still pretty decent. Summerslam was bad ass, and I think all will agree, so it's not like it was that long ago they were on the right track. The spring also had a bit of a lull too. They bounce back, and a lot of the shit was just for the bigger picture, which seems like what right now is too, the slow build up to wm.
