I finally broke the elusive 300k mark, so I might just call it a week.

You guys are gonna make me work for my inevitable 9th place finish! =P

Well at least you don't have to worry about beating my score, although I'd only be in 3rd place if it counted.

I haven't played yet this week and I'm probably looking at more of a middle of the road participation score, but who knows.  I think I can break 100K without too much trouble.
 

Hey, it's one less score to worry about! I can usually get in the 225k+ range without much trouble, but from loop 6 on when the difficulty maxes out, the key stage is simply sadistic. If you take too long to clear it, there will eventually be so much stuff on the screen that it causes sprite overload resulting in graphics glitches. The same thing happens on the barrel stage of Donkey Kong on the higher loops. I'm not sure if they fixed that on the DK Classics combo cart or not.

This is very true. Most of my lives lost are on the Key stage when the difficulty is near max'd. I should spend less time screwing around on that stage
 

Yeah, I can still clear the first three levels once the difficulty maxes out without much trouble, but that key stage is really random. I basically have to gear my gameplan based on where the snappers start and go from there. It's really tough to nail down a solid plan for that stage going in. It's basically on par with the magician floor in Kung Fu. There's not much you can do beyond crossing your fingers and hoping that you can make it through.

That seems to keep backfiring on you. I'm happy with breaking the 300k mark, so I'll just leave that for you to shoot for.

My score is already much higher than I thought I could do, but it's nothing compared to the ridiculously high scores that others are getting.

I hope I have better luck with "1943". I've already ordered the cart for next week.

scored 160k on loop 5 with 2 lives left and the spring board malfunctioned ( or i had a brain fart ) and wasted my last 2 lives. i made it through to the sparks but got caught with my monkey butt sticking out on the vine and got zapped. starting to get into more of a rhythm with this though. going to give it another go after work tonight
