Depends on the price of the game, I guess.

I can understand why somebody would use a $0.20 bubble mailer and a couple of pieces of cardboard versus a $2 dedicated CD/DVD mailer, depending on how much the item is selling for.

No cardboard.  There wasn't even any bubble wrap on the game itself.  It was just the game and jewel case shoved into a cheap  bubble mailer.  I actually see this quite a bit.  I'm amazed when I get something that isn't broken.  The game in question was Star Ocean, about a $30 game BIN complete.  I just returned it today.  I mailed it in cardboard with the jewel case, or what's left of it, wrapped in bubble wrap.  Maybe the seller will get the hint.

People may make fun of Floridians but we respect alligator infested waters here. If it's not salty or designated for swimming you keep the fuck out.

While not quite on the level of playing with large reptiles stupid, this is still pretty amusing:

^This.

I think I've only been real close to a wild alligator by accident going on a nature walk with family. Luckily, the gator was fighting and eating a fish, so it didn't pay us any mind.

Still, didn't mean it was okay for us to stick around, so we got outta there.

An alligator on land is way more interested in sub-bathing than attacking you, unless you encounter a nest.

(and the in-water scenario that tends to set them off is people accidentally stepping on them, because they sometimes rest on the bottom of the lake or swamp)

Small children are a lot more at risk than adults, though.
(likely for the same reason that poachers attract alligators with "yip dogs")

Interesting info about the yippy dogs. Didn't know that.

But yeah, as Daria said, it's best to respect the habbitat these animals live in. I have to agree with the OP that jumping into a nest on a dare is really stupid. Hearts go out to the families and all, but man...

Yeah, if you mess with a nest, you'll get fucked up.

#1 worst thing to hear, IMO, if you're hiking around a swamp would be the "cheep cheep" of baby alligators crying.

Yes, I've been to various parts of FL.  (one of my favorite tourist traps as a kid was the alligator farm in St Augustine)

I've camped in places with alligators, as well.  (Okefenokee on the GA/FL border)
They have wooden shelters (i.e. decking on the ground and a slanted roof -- but no walls of any kind) at various points along the main canal.

You go in by canoe.

Evidently, having a group of people all sleeping on the ground doesn't attract much interest from the alligators.
(and there were plenty of alligators to see, sunning on the banks of the canal during the day)

It's been decades, but I've been to a alligator farm before. Might be the same one you've been to. We got to throw raw fish into the enclosures and watch the gators eat. T'was pretty cool IMO. lol

Camping and boat riding is a must for anyone visiting Florida. Forget Disney and NASA, go to where the real nature stuff is! I'll even personally knight you a honorary Foridian once you get to ride in one of those big fanned pontoon airboats.

Yeah it was
"A Streetcar Naked Desire" well... that almost works.

Also, have to say, I enjoyed my visit to Florida some years ago. Tons of gators in the Everglades. They must be used to humans though, they seemed like the could care less about us and just wanted to enjoy the sunshine... if only humans had the same attitudes.

Out of curiosity, how many gators have you wrestled?

You probably showed them who's the woman.

None. Like I said I know better.

Growing up we had a summer riverfront house, I remember going outside once and there was a gator sleeping under the boat house. I couldn't have noped back inside any faster.

edit: Also never been to a gator farm, by my grandmother once took me to a roadside "zoo". The owners had a pet mountain lion and I got to roll around on the floor and play with two of the cubs.

Woman sentenced to 10 years for deadly butt injection

http://wsvn.com/news/local/woman-...

Why, would you need a "butt injection"? And why would you use "a deadly mixture of Fix-a-Flat, cement, silicone, mineral oil and Super Glue to give bad butt injections"
Ah, people...

The better queston is, why would you walk into some back-alley dive with a xeroxed medical degree for ass surgery from this person:

IIRC, it was often for the purpose of illegal (often transgender) surgury. Figure people who don't want to go through the required psychotherapy and don't have the bucks to travel to Thailand might be interested in this "doctor".

I feel a bit sorry for this guy... but uh, not the smartest of decisions

"Disastrous public proposal leaves Fenway Park chanting 'SHE SAID NO!'"

On the other hand, this did entertain the masshole filled crowd quite a bit, and serves as a warning to other, uh, "romantics", so you could argue this added to society's "benefit" in a twisted way.

Except some of us can wrestle a bear

Yep, but definitely not a grizzly.   It was a trained black bear, and I had no chance.

Damn, Chicago is messed up... I know, I know, it's not just Chicago. However, that place in particular seems to have gone to shite
