I've been basically bedridden since Friday with the same thing and I haven't had a chance to play since Thursday. I'm already down to third place so it looks like I'm on thin ice as far as moving on goes.

Tier 1:  7-7  42,540

Made it to the cyclops, tried to be risky and died on the last hit, definitely should have slipped a picture in beforehand but I'll have to settle for this one. I've never really been a Castlevania fan but this one grew on me the more I played it.

That knocks me down to 4th, so I'm literally on the bubble now. Hopefully I can get lucky and survive to the next round.

Well, I still haven't even fired up my NES. I was watching AGDQ most of the week/weekend and couldn't divide my attention otherwise. I stayed awake for the Chrono Trigger finale and then slept until 4:00pm today.

I've never been much better at Castlevania either.  I have my scoring down to a decent amount, but my progress is a whole other thing.  I'll be posting something before the end, rather it's good enough or not by that time.

Couldn't get my stupid cart to work, had to play with this piece of shit psp. Worked my ass off to get this far. Hope one of these is clear enough, got the game on pause, but the stupid screen.

Literally just finished this. Had several great runs prior today that were spoiled in one way or another. I should've gotten to the bosses but didn't. Was so relieved I finally put together a satisfying run that I sped up the scrolling tower too fast and got knocked off by one of those skeleton swordsmen as soon as it appeared.

I was going for lowest score,but after seeing Tom's,NVs,and CBs scores I said screw it and just went for advancement since it trumps all and I knew where the bar was set.

Sorry about overtaking you Doug. It was pretty tough playing this week. Not because of the game,but because of this freaking flu. Ugh. Anyway,It's up to you MattyJ!  

I planned on giving it a serious run over the weekend, but I ended up with the flu too and didn't get to play at all. Oh well...

I didn't play at all on thursday. I did play some friday,but only in short bursts. I have been able to play decent amounts yesterday and today although I still feel fatigued to a degree but I'm in a lot better shape now. 
And it could be a possibility Logo,although I have a hunch that it will be a sports game.

I hope he picks Yoshi's Cookie. At least I know that I wouldn't have had a chance if I had made the finals.

That'll probably end this tournament for me. I'm going to try to make one last run, but I doubt I have the time. This is farther than I've ever got in any Castlevania on the NES, so I'm happy about that at least. Good luck to everyone else the rest of the way.

Edit: I'm done.  I got back to 5-5 somehow in about 12 minutes on a speed run (I didn't care about points on that), but I couldn't improve my progress.  Congrats to Caleb, Sunsetflip, Dev, and Thundercat on making it to the finale of Tier 2 .

Kind of feel like a quarterback who just pulled off a 4th quarter comeback with under 2 minutes left.

man, with the way I played this week, I honestly thought I was going out since everyone was making it past sunken city. You were the one I figured would have beat me straight up.

Just wondering what the final game will be. I wish it was Contra,but knowing that an arcade/shooter was already picked I highly doubt it. Same goes for action/platformer. So I guess a sports game,puzzle game,and whatever else I'm forgetting. (Please Tecmo Super Bowl...no whammies,no whammies.....stop!)

I'm actually kind of flattered by that, but honestly, the majority of my Castlevania playing before this came from Bloodlines on the Genesis.  I maybe played a collective total of an hour on all three Castlevanias on the NES combined before the Castlevania contest a couple months ago, and even then I only played for a couple hours.  Just getting this far was a miracle from how bad I was at the beginning of the week.  As good as I got at the end, if I had one more day, I may have gone farther, but as is it, I'm fine making my exit.  Good luck in the next round.

Yeah, I was really hoping for DK Jr but like you said, Galaga kinda took the arcade slot.  It's funny, I was actually thinking earlier tonight..."What if it's Tecmo Bowl?"

I love the anticipation for the last game Just got home from work and had to stay a little over to deal with an idiot. Gonna eat some dinner real quick, get the scores calculated, and then post the contest for the Finals.
