In theory there shouldn't be a problem... maybe if you try the 1.33? the only other possible explanation would be a manufacture difference, but I highly doubt it.

Alrighty, here are some more Japanese exclusives that I can confirm to work on the PowerPak, having just tested them all today, so you can add these to your list:

Crisis Force (excellent shooter; why the HELL wasn't this released over here?)

Samurai Pizza Cats

Pizza Pop!

Joy Mecha Fight

Parodius

Wai Wai World

Wai Wai World 2

Moon Crystal

Sweet Home

Jesus: Kyoufu no Bio Monster

King Kong 2: Ikari no Megaton Punch (aka King Kong Lives)

Nekketsu! Street Basket: Ganbare Dunk Heroes

Twinbee 3

Holy Diver

Nekketsu Kakuto Densetsu (aka Riki Kunio) (man, this game's FANTASTIC, and would have been a smash hit over here, I would think)

Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-Kun (aka River City Ransom Zero)

Hottaaman no Chitei Tanken (aka Hotman, Hotman's Underground Expedition)

I'll add them shortly. By the way Jeff, I tried using 1.34b mappers, and Crystalis became very glitchy. I can still read the dialogue boxes, but graphics are all screwed up with vertical lines. Go ahead and try 1.33 to see if that helps you.

Weird. OK, I'll try 1.33 and see if that helps.

EDIT: Nope, didn't help.  Same issue.  And I wonder why you got that different glitch when you used 1.34b, which I certainly didn't get?

There is definitely an issue with Crystalis on the PowerPak, at least for some users apparently; might want to make a note of this on your list.  I wonder if it works properly for Bunnyboy?  Anyone else here having PowerPak problems with Crystalis?

And I just noticed you already had Sweet Home on our list of Japanese exclusives that work, so let's pretend I didn't put that on my list of additions...

Yes it does, and welcome to NA.

Thanks!  I don't post too often, but every once in awhile I feel compelled.  I've been in an NES phase lately, apparently.

Has anyone tested NTSC roms on a PAL console? Will they run faster than PAL roms?

Cybernoid - The Fighting Machine

This one is almost certainly the game, not the PowerPak.  It uses the $0D color (blacker than black) so it will screw up many (most?) non CRT TVs.  Anyone who sees graphics problems on the PowerPak should check the authentic cart, it will likely have the same problems.

Another Japanese exclusive title that works:
Rampart Konami (this isn't the same version that the US got).

This is almost certainly the ROM.  Many are set to horizontal mirroring, but it is supposed to be vertical: http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/pr...

OK, I decided that instead of taking out the names of the games repaired in beta mappers, I'll just put a capital letter legend stating it's REPAIRED IN BETA. When these mappers are actually put in the Powerpak's page in retrousb.com, I'll remove the titles from the list. I also stated the number of compatible games with beta mappers. I tried the actual cybernoid cart, and it works in my TV, the rom I have works in FCEUX. Same with Super Cars. If someone confirms them to work on a Powerpak, let me know to remove them!

The color problem won't affect emulators at all.  Can you take a pict of the graphics problems on your TV?

Same with Super Cars.

FCEUX has checksums to identify and handle bad headers, so it will already be correcting the problem.  Did you check if the ROM has the correct mirroring set?

Well, Mr. Gimmick was never released in Japan.  Gimmick was, and it works on the powerpak.  You'll never notice the sound difference. Also, this is a USA list.

taking pinbot out of the list then

Also, adding Mr Gimmick!, and please, if someone can check super cars, will be mostly appreciated. I'll take a pic of Cybernoid later Brian.

Here's the pic of Cybernoid with the Powerpak:

That's the first screen after pressing start. The title screen is ok, but after that, everything is garbage. You can still move around and play.

Ok, so I was thinking of shamelessly stealing MCMayhem's idea, and make of the incompatibility list, a thread of all things about the powerpak that are relevant. I want this thread to include MC's original post on "how to make better use of the CF space" (with his permision, and giving credit of course), links to the locations of all the mappers available (including the savestate mappers by thefox, and beta mappers by bunnyboy), and links to any other good Powerpak threads. Maybe a troubleshooting guide with common issues?

What do you think MCMayhem? or maybe you prefer me to add a link to your series of threads (if you ever make followups)? I was thinking of putting the name you proposed (Powerpak Attack) to this thread, but I rather hear your opinion first.

I think that game uses custom mappers a la Mario Adventure, so that would be a no. BTW, as MCMayhem never answered my PM, I'll just do as I see fit, haha.

I just installed Bunnyboy's latest set of beta mappers, and the Crystalis glitches are gone for me! You might be able to add "Fixed in Beta" to the Crystalis entry in the first post!

By the by, might I suggest putting links in the first post to Bunnyboy's beta mappers thread and also the save state mappers thread? Also, howzabout a link to the valuable Fat Sorter app, which will keep your ROM files alphabetically organized on the flash card?

Let me know about the Super Mario World pirate. I want a PowerPack so badly...

What about the Pokemon Gold pirate? I would like to see that, but I'm not sure about mappers.
