I know with Rapidshare that once you download a file, you have to wait a certain period of time to download anymore-usually 15 minutes or so. Have they changed it?

My bad, it does say to try again in XX minutes, so ya, probably one per 15 mins.

Your welcome Miss Clawful. I would have added more but I ran out of time in getting that post up (and figuring out what had to be done to make it look right).
I plan on posting weekly updates from Retromags here and hope that it helps get members from both sites to check out the other.
We have a bunch of nice mag sets coming in the near future so it is going to be interesting to say the least.

It's really a pain to download one item every 15 minutes.

I know how it is not the most fun thing in the world to have to use Rapidshare but it is the only dependable option we have for non members to be able to access the files. If you sign up, after making, I believe 25 posts in the forums, you can download several files from the main site server without waiting.
Anyone know of any other hosting options that don't have a wait period for free members?

I'm fine with it, download one, and while I wait for the next one, I look through the one I just downloaded, by the time I'm finished skimming through it that next one is ready. Going through Game Player's (the first gaming magazines I ever had, but only a couple of them) and PSM (one of my favorite gaming magazines). The real bitch is, is that a decade ago when I had put all my focus on NES and given the original Playstation, N64, and SNES to my brother, I also let him have all our gaming magazines, lots of 'em, and over the years I've asked to look at them, but he don't share, don't even look at them himself, they've been stored away for years, EGM, Gamepro, and PSM magazines, lots of them. Now me, if I had them, they'd be just like my Nintendo Powers, worn out from me constantly looking through and enjoying them for what they're supposed to be used for. Someday I'm going to try to get these magazines back, if he still has them then, but I know I'll have to buy them from him, my brother don't give for free, even own family members in the same household.

I have a brother just like that Miss Clawful, give him something free and then he wants to charge me to use it (like in the case of a DVD player or a computer), but if he needs something or wants it, he doesn't understand why I either won't share it or want money. Well, I should put that in the past tense since I haven't lived with him for very long in many years.
Recently a member on Retromags was awesome enough to donate their collection rather than throw it out and I received some very nice PSM and PSExtreme issues (PSM #4 being the oldest of those).
Let us know what issues you want to see on Retromags, we have several members that have posted their list of available magazines up in the Magazine Talk section and we welcome members to ask for a certain issue to be scanned. It helps us keep going and sometimes gives us direction when staring at a wall of magazines and no clue as to what to scan next.

Ones I'd like, Game Player's Encyclopedia of Nintendo Games volume 1 (since 2, 3, and 4 are available, wondering if there were any more beyond no. 4), and particularly Game Player's Buyer's Guide to Nintendo Games volume 1 number 1 (this was one of the 2 magazines that I first had along with Vol. 2 No. 5 which was nice to see after all those years, lots of nostalgia regarding these).

Oh if only I had all those magazines that my brother has had all these years, I'd certainly try to contribute to scanning them all, but alas its not to be, at least not anytime in the near future.

I've got a ton of NES-era mags (most, probably all, of the ones Clawful mentioned) that are still needed. He mentioned that they have folks willing to do the leg work of scanning so I may see if I can get some of mine over to them to have available.

Yes, we have several members that are willing and able to scan issues in and return the issues when done (myself included-I have scanned in close to 20 magazines for 3 members so far along with my personal releases). We can work something out, just let me know.
