Lots of money for this... interesting:

Guess it's only assumed $30,000, as he's reluctant to reveal specific details.

That link says only 3 ever made and the one guy got 2 himself? Crazy, reminds me of the DreamTR NWC Gold story.

If they only found out about the three within the last month then I wonder if the SNK guy had all three but only sold two to this guy.

According to Adol and Tonk, there's most likely more than 3 copies... Just right now there's only 3 in the hands of collectors.

I've been reading the whole thread since it was first posted. As always with Neo Geo drama it doesn't disappoint.

Ive been following this from the beginning. Tonk never disappoints, and I'm looking forward to hearing what else he uncovers. I also like seeing Dion and Chrisr scramble to come up with BS cover-up stories.

Would like to see (the ROM) released, but that'll never happen....Still interesting to say the least, we have another game on the level of NWC Gold!

Sigh.... There is no rom to be had. The "rom" is the same as the MVS equivalent, it's the fact that the game was intended to be released in the US that makes the story what it is. Adding to it is the fact that NGF had no knowledge of the game (although they'll certainly claim otherwise) is what makes this event historically important.

As for the NWC, you have it the wrong way around. It took a while for the NWC to reach the price of some home carts. Some notable home carts were pulling five figures well before any NWC had.

You can play the game on the MVS. The ROM may be very similar, as the carts are compatible with an adapter.

EDIT: looks like BeaglePuss beat me to the post button on that explanation

It's possible.

With the NES it happens where one pops up and then more start to pop up because everyone had a NES back in the day. That makes lots of opportunities for "rare" NES games to pop up afterward.

How many people had an AES? Not many people even know what one is. I think people will see this and not even know what it is, then start looking at other video games thinking they are similar stories.

That and the bones of the Elephant man in his living room right next to the bar.

Dream used the entire production run of this game as bricks for his fireplace. those three were the leftovers from the pallet.

This is precisely why I have been selling off my US AES stuff and trading down for Japanese....systems are what defines the region, not the games...so essentially the sticker, insert, and manual are what command the high dollar.

Heck, cgame makes repros (or did) so real that you couldn't tell the difference if he really wanted to make it silly...

But even on Aero Fighters 3...if this is real (and who knows these days) Sonic Wings 3 is like what, $200-300? Comes up Aero Fighters 3 on the screen...I mean, why bother? lol....the carts are EXACTLY the same from each region...I can't believe how much money I have made selling just 7 US games so far...I ended up with $4500 and a replacement set of Japanese counterparts....gotta love Neo Geo...

dang that's crazy...

so i guess the guy selling the games isn't a collector.
If I had 2 of these, the 1st one I would sell while keeping the other one.

definitely insure it too hehe
