As some of you may know, I have a traveling job and whenever I'm out of town (every week) I search for video games in whatever city I'm in and along the way.  Here's everything I picked up this week:

Tuesday:
Cheyenne, WY (Bart's Flea Market)
Nothing too special here, if I knew what I was going to find later in the week, I may have passed on some of this stuff.  Turnabout is sealed if you can't tell.

Total Money: $23

Thursday:
I had a very, very good day today

First I picked all this Final Fantasy stuff from a guy in Omaha, NE.  Tons of really cool stuff.  Anyone know anything about all these Final Fantasy Japanese books?

Here's the story on this deal.  Originally I responded to his ad for 14 Japanese Final Fantasy Books for $25.  He said he was a huge Final Fantasy fan.  So I asked him if he had any other Final Fantasy stuff he wanted to sell as he was moving to China of all places.  He responded back with Final Fantasy Collection and Final Fantasy IX both are Japanese and the American version of Final Fantasy VIII (probably my 4th copy of this game).  I offered $60 for everything, he sounded a little reluctant, but took the offer as I explained I was a collector.  He was glad they were going to a good home.  He even had Final Fantasy Collection listed on Ebay for $100 BIN and took it down to throw it in with this deal!!  Really nice guy

oh, you guys probably want pics:

Next I had to deal with a prick.  I almost never bought this NES lot as I personally didn't like the guy, but I couldn't pass on a good resale lot.  Took a couple days, but I talked him down to $100 for all the NES stuff.  Found this in Omaha, NE as well.

Now for the mother of all PS1 lots!  This ad was in the Des Moines, IA craigslist for 4 whole days before I even picked it up.  I can't believe no one snagged this!  Oh well, their loss, my gain.  Got all of this stuff for $75!  Less than $1 per game as there's over 80 games total!

Here's a few highlights:

Oh and I made a stop at a thrift store in Iowa City, IA and picked up all of these for $1.50 each:

So how do you think I did?  I started out slow this week, but I ended it with a bang!  Keep an eye on my For Sale Thread as I'll be updating it probably tomorrow.  There's lots of games I already got so they'll be going up for sale.

Oh wait!!! I forgot to toss in that when I got home a few hours ago, my fiance' handed me this:

Excellent work there, man...great stuff. If you feel like parting with any of that PS RPG stuff (especially those Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest guides...I need literally all of them for my collection, plus a certain 6 of the US PS1 games), hit me up with a PM .

I think I'm going to hold onto the Japanese Final Fantasy stuff for now. As for some of the PS1 games I'll be parting with, here's a few at a glance that I have doubles of:

Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII (2 Copies)
Final Fantasy IX
Legend of Legia
Xenogears

There will be more as I dig through them

Thanks everyone, I haven't had much luck for large lots lately so this was a nice fresh breath of air.  It's funny, I had to kill 2 hours while I waited for the PS1 dude to get home from work.  So I went over to his house the second he said he was home and started digging through his box of games.  At first I was really dissapointed as the first 25 games I pulled out were all sports games, then I pulled out Lunar, then Xenogears, then Bust-a-Groove, so on and so on.  I probably had the biggest smile in the world when I seen those games.  The dude wanted to get rid of his old games as he has a PS3 now and has no use for his old games.  Originally the ad was posted for over 70 PS1 games for $50 OBO.  Then he asked if I wanted any PS2 games for $5 a piece.  I grabbed all the games that weren't sports so the total was $75 for all the PS1 and PS2 games.  I'm sure I could have juked him down, but I knew I could make my money back over and over on this lot already.  Didn't want to insult the guy.  So in the end he was happy and I was extremely happy

I don't know anything about the Japanese FF books.  I picked them up because it's something you don't find everyday and I was more than willing to pay about $1.75 a piece for them.  The guy I bought them from really took care of his stuff and paid way more than that for them.

If anyone has any info as to the value of these books, don't be afraid to chime in.

Thanks!

hey man, my brother lives in Bettendorf. He's been having some good luck lately, but you always have to do some traveling to get it. Between the two of us, we usually pick up any good deal within a couple hundred mile radius as we both have traveling jobs.  It's a ton of work though, just today I stopped at 10 different places looking for stuff.  Only found 2 SNES controllers for $1.99 each.

To hell with the rest of it, I think that "Coming Out of Their Shells" tape is the coolest of the bunch! Haha!

No, seriously though. That PS1 lot is a-MAZING. Like you said, it's amazing nobody else snatched it up before you did. Total no-brainer buy. Good job on talking down the NES lot guy, too. I definitely wouldn't have paid more than $100 for that.

They aren't worth a whole lot, maybe $5-$10 each, except for the FF Collection DigiCube book ($10-$15).  Again, though, I'd definitely be interested in them if you were to sell them.
