All I can say is prove me wrong if you can cause if all you have is claims of 2 legit sales with warriors can be taken two ways (also is there any proof on the box saying JUST the warrior since i read my box and it says FIGURES, which is plural and there is no gauntlet giveaway promotion on the front or back like that of the dreamcast, since its kinda hard to fit one in a jewel case). One way being that it was a coincidence that the warrior came up twice and none others have serviced due to being such a rare item so people will think since no other copies came up with a figure other than warrior or the second thing is that it was just the warrior in the N64; but i would still like for you to justify this besides 2 legit sales which if not sealed could of been pieced together themselves like little frankensteins.

Also I think midway did a few other promotions like this with rampage and micro machines but im sure you know that. Why would they make multiple different cars and plushes that could of came with the game, then not do the same here. To me logic points to the direction that if you play N64 you could of got any of the 5 figures, and if you play dreamcast and wanted them you could of ordered a set which could of been obtained via mail order. Also do you notice on the Gauntlet Giveaway stamp the warrior is right in front with his nifty battle axe???? Just pointing that out there.

Just sounds to me that the fact the box says Figures on it, indicates that there were variants on the variant (different figures), also that the two other ppl who have a complete copy are discrediting mine with little to no evidence besides them having the same figure seems to me they want to undervalue anything else that comes up which will stop them from putting it on ebay for extravagant amounts for either a sale or to show off.

PS: when i saw this i didnt see a figure cause it was missing the incert, the box was crammed with tissue paper and still is with the game and manual inside along with the figure. Feel free to mail me your incert jone or anyone else so i can see if it does fit and wasnt just pieced together cause that seems like the only way you can prove this wrong.

I dont want this thread to blow up into a TIT for TAT throwback, this is my stance on this. If you have hard proof besides theories then please share it.

It's HARDER to prove on your end being that you're missing the insert. That's a huge part of this.

Looking at yours...why can't it be pieced together?

Looking at others i can say the same, maybe they bought 1 copy without an incert and one with? As i said, if you have one feel free to mail it to me and i will test that theory. I will mail it back cause im not a thief, i would like to prove one side right or the other.

The burden of proof is on your shoulders.  Like I said, two legit copies surfaced and both are Warriors.  They were legit because they were fully complete with trays and from original owners.  I know, I talked to the guy extensively when I bought mine.

Is this a knock at me?  If anything you should be thanking me for raising awareness.  12 months ago no one knew this existed and I was the first to land a copy.  How do I know?  The copy that I bought was a second relist at slightly higher than usual CIB price.  That means this thing was listed for 14 days on Ebay before I found it.  If someone else knew it existed, it would have been bought the first go round.

Also, my listing at an extravagant amount caused a second one to surface.  Of course I didn't want to sell and I was just showing it off to create some publicity... and look where we are now.  I almost wish I didn't.  At least it caused a second one to come up which is now owned by another NAer.  And sure enough... it had the Warrior too, whether you want to say it's a concidence or what.

The burden of proof is on both parties sir. I cant prove you wrong and you cant prove me wrong. Send me your incert so i can test your theory, if it doesnt fit then you are right and the owner before me pieced it together. Legit cause they are complete? only way to prove me wrong without a doubt is if a case of sealed ones pop up and they ALLLLLLL have warriors. What is stopping someone from posting one on ebay 2moro or a year from now with a different figure with the incert???

As i said, your example of the tray missing hurt me claiming im making a frankenstein....im sure you got articles in your collection at a time missing an incert, hell im missing them for my hey you pikachu and pokemon stadium big boxes.....

Send me yours and we can see if the wizard fits or not. Unless you wish to argue back and forth at who is wrong and right instead of getting right down to a test or wait god knows how long till another CIB with a figure will pop up. I have seen dozens of boxes pop up over time all missing figures so only time will tell if we cant agree to disagree or prove it in some way other than 2 sales that happened to have the same figure. With by my math is a 20% chance (since i claim there were 5 figures) so thats better odds of two of the same popping up than a roll of a di. Plus statistically 2 is a very small number to base something as fact.

Well some other members have already acquired some of these figurines to test the sizing theory. We'll find out soon enough. No way in hell I would mail my insert away for a science project though. I've provided the most logical theory based on the current market data, and anyone else can do their own research to support any of their theories. That's up to you.

I have to add my 2 cents as well I concur with Jones and War Pig the Warrior figure is the only figure I have seen bundled with the game as for the Wizard figure it was indeed a freebie given away so logic would presume that it was put in place of the warrior creating a new supposedly N64 variant.

Ok so I have the other 4 figurines on their way to me. I'll test to see which ones actually fit the original insert, I'm the other NAer who owns a proven legit copy. My guess is 3 of the 4 will fit. That being said I think all we as collectors just really want to find out what the correct figurine that goes in the n64 version. Is it possible jkenned5's version was peiced together? I say yes it is possible but in saying that I'm not implying he did it as he isn't the first owner. The original owner could have had all five characters and just stuffed one in the box not remembering which one came with it. will people in the future be inclined to peice this varient together? Hell yeah they will, some people will do anything to make a buck. So what it boils down to is we need to get conformation of what was offered. I've already sent an email to an old midway employee contact I have to see if he can shed some light on it and I'll also try each of the four figurines to see how they fit. If just 1 of the 4 figurines don't fit I'm going to conclude for myself that the 4 pack offered was just that, a set of four for mail in offers, and the warrior was for the n64. Separating out the set makes sense to me from a business standpoint because then you have to buy two games to get the whole set. That's my two cents, if the other characters came with the n64 version that's fine with me, gives me more varients to look for.

Hey Jordan,

Would you mind posting a picture of your CIB and this new one you found? No need to get detailed pics. Side by side would do.

Wow sweet box. I haven't seen one of those since I worked at Midway. People who were on the Gauntlet team or just were fans of the series, some had those boxes in their offices, or at the least one if not all the fighters from the game. They're really cool little statues and I never could track one down for myself at the time, but it's definitely something to hold onto as they're not common by any means.

I just skimmed the thread a bit to see the back and forward on the N64 copy.  I wish my memory was better than it is, but I'm going to have to side with the warrior being in the N64 box.  I vaguely remember it being so, and the others were random mailaway that came with the Dreamcast version which someone also put a picture up of too.  All four fighters were done up, but it was a grab bag of sorts of who you got.

Haha, thanks man.  Yeah, FinnGamer does not have a Gauntlet Figurine.  As a matter of fact, I had the game, showed him the picture, and he put it on his site without permission.  I didn't really mind, but I did email him and ask him for a credit.

A few months later he grabbed a Minty box only that had been on eBay a few days or weeks.  It was a BIN around $45 and I thought the box only was semi-common compared to the figure.  I should have upgraded if I knew everyone would pile in, but my box is still an 8.5 or so.  His is probably a 9.5 at least.

Also, Finngamer owns a Rampage Big Box only because I sold it to him last year.  His total N64 collection vastly outwieghs mine, but I've always focused on games and not accessories / systems.

So yes, I hate to be blunt, but don't assume you know everything.  Of course I know Finngamer, we're both N64 enthusiasts with large collections.

oh im very far to know everything. that's why i like talking n64 with other collectors. we all learn something along the way, even if we're collecting since years.

as for the figurine, i dont know if it's legit or pieced. i mean, 2 copy can't 100% say it came with the warrior. of course, the 2 copies came with it, but since this variant is very uncommon, we dont really know if it could have come with other figurines. we can assume it came with the warrior, but we can't 100% confirm this was the only figurine available with it. i'm eager to see willis82 respoince form his midway contact about it. too bad Tanooki doesnt remember about it since he worked there, that would have helped and slow down the assumption.

Yes it's a Warrior and I would bet my entire N64 CIB collection on it. I'm not sure you'd get that same guarantee from anyone else saying that separate characters came with it. This thread was a joke.

In the end it's just a cardboard box and a cheap figure, right? Give the guy at least a tiny bit of credit and stop being so petty
