Hello!

I know there is a lot of hacks made for the NES but as I'm not an emulator player I never really tried them.
Recently I planned to by a Powerpak to play roms on my actual NES system. So now I could play some hacks on my TV and it would be very nice.

So I ask you guys what you think are the best hacks on the system.

Let me explain you what I'm searching : I don't want to play crazzy hard hacks like some of the SMB games that can be played only knowing everything and game glitches. I want hacks that could be REAL games at the time, that could be played by everyone and still make sens.

Thanks.

While it doesn't work on the PowerPak, Mario Adventure is one of my favorites

Zelda outlands is amazing, difficult, but not over the top.

Zelda Outlands (a LoZ hack)
Super Mario Unlimited (a SMB1 hack)
Rockman No Constancy (a Rockman 2 hack)
Adventures of Bass (a MM2 hack)
Dragoon X Omega (a DW hack)
Dragoon X Omega 2 (a FF hack)

There are at least 2 decent Castlevania hacks that I can't think of off the top of my head.
There are also a couple other Zelda hacks that, while fun, have game-breaking flaws that you'd have to Game Genie around, or something.
They MIGHT work in an emulator, but I've found that they don't work beyond a certain point on the PowerPak.

thesubcon3 : I just checked on youtube and the game seems pretty good indeed!
Do you know why it's not working on the Powerpak?

vern77777 : seems cool, Zelda 1 on NES is my favorite Zelda, it's one of the game I can play even if it's a bit "too" hard.

arch_8ngel : thanks for all this list! gotta check this!

There's some sort of patch that fixes Mario Adventure on the NES, I'll just leave this here: (Patch link) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18341918/...

If you're a big Zelda fan Outlands is going to blow your mind.

I'd actually recommend doing a swordless run of LoZ to prep yourself for thinking outside the box with the different items and their capabilities.

Uhm non homebrews? I enjoy mario adventure but you need a dummy save file or it won't even start. I have some other hacks that I enjoyed for a bit but so far mario adventure's the best.
