I will be working more on the 3d printed brace now that I am not working 25 hours a day   It will be at least a week until I can make it back into the office, then about a week to get samples from shapeways.

I don't know if I can do a zoom with what is left in the FPGA. I dont see how it would look good without blurring because 720/224 is non integer.

You should look into the lead time to produce custom tooling/molds, produce the actual part, produce the PCB the actual part goes on, assemble the actual part, and to ship the actual part over the ocean in a big container ship. It's not like the connector is an off the shelf connector. It had to be designed and made from the ground up.

Now you'll maybe see why it takes over 6 months   Plus there's a holiday in there where NOTHING gets done in China for like a month...

Not to mention he had to run a business and ship hundreds of AVS systems.

All in I have around 10 games that aren't working on the AVS, yet they work fine on my '85 NES. Mega Man 2 was actually the very first game I tried on the AVS so it was extra disappointing and baffling that it wasn't working.

I figured he would have had replacements well before 2017.
So it could very well be another 6 months (9 months total) before I can play games such as MM2 on my AVS.

Have you tried inserting the cartridge left side first?

That worked for my Tetris cartridge.

Way back on 9/16 complained about Donkey Kong classics not working in this thread but works fine on actual NES. Moved on with life, bigger issues to deal with. :-) Then I came back to this thread randomly and found there is a extended cartridge connector issue. For kicks pulled the board out of the cart and put it in AVS and guess what..It works perfectly. So im guessing I need the new extended cartridge connector. Is it easy to replace or do we need to send in the AVS for repair?

It can be replaced by the user. Everything is modular ,so all you need is a screwdriver.

Hi all, new to the forum here. Sorry if this has been covered, but how would I go about getting my hands on a new connector to deal with the extended cartridge issue? I understand these won't be available until March-Mid May, but I can't find the link to purchase/pre-order on the retrousb website.

Thanks in advance for any help or guidance.

There is no way to purchase/pre-order. Just keep checking back. It will be impossible to miss when they become available.

Yeah, Brian didn't even have the AVS open to preorders until they were at least on the boat.

Thanks for the reply folks. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the news when the connectors drop.

The AVS is incredible as is though, thanks for making this thing exist! We couldn't be more happy with anything else this holiday season.

Don't worry. You'll be second in line for the new connectors (behind me.   )

With integer scaling, 4x would cut 30 pixels each from the top and bottom of the NES 240 resolution, which I think is a bit too much. Best to stick with 3x and keep the simple mask border.

I had the same issue with Castlevania 3 on the Everdrive, while the real cart worked perfectly.  Turn off the extra sprites feature if it's on. That should resolve it.

Good call! I forgot I had that enabled.

Tried out beta 7 for the FF7 support, but it still won't run for me. I receive error A5 just as always. Maybe it's because I'm using an Everdrive N8 instead of a homebrew cart?

Anyhow, was experiencing weird noise issues (as mentioned above) and some glitchy sprites so I rolled back to beta 6. This one seems to be fine. Otherwise I'll just go back to 1.10 until a stable release.

Having a lot of fun with all this though. The AVS is amazing. I just received mine last week.

Also would it be possible to get support for Tecmo Super Bowl 2017, or has that game been hacked beyond NES capabilities? Again, this might be more of an Everdrive issue, I suppose.

I'll take a look at the ROM and see what I can do.

 The everdrive/powerpak cannot run FF7.

Thanks! Yeah, Tecmo Super Bowl 2017 actually runs, but the graphics are scrambled.

That's what I feared. Thanks for letting me know!

Klisk make sure your everdrive has the latest mappers. This years version of TSB was changed to use the MMC5 mapper. It runs correctly on nestopia and fceux 2.2.3.

Has anyone had any trouble with the screen freezing up using the 1.20 beta firmwares? I tried both b6 and b7 and I get weird screen lockups where the game continues to play, but the screen is frozen or choppy. It seems to happen most when there is a lot of really saturated color on the screen, like the second level of Zelda 1. Different palette options fix the problem with some games, but then cause new problems in others. Version 1.10 hasn't given me any problems like this, so that's what I rolled back to.

I haven't had that problem, short of the one game (Xexyz.) B6 is my current firmware as b7 had sound issues.

It's happened with multiple games that I've tried. Zelda, Chip & Dale, Dragon Warrior 2, Gauntlet... Probably more. Tried 3 different HDMI cables and even switched the USB power supply and cord just in case it was a problem with my setup. I thought maybe it was my TV having trouble handling the signal from the AVS for a bit, but when 1.10 fixed everything I figured that wasn't the case. It's weird, because the original palette in 1.20 can cause the problem, but 1.10 is fine. Weird...

Definitely email [email protected] with this info. Which games, what you saw, which firmware, etc.

They'll want to know about it.

Not sure where this should go, but I'm just popping in to say that the Super Game 150-1 is compatible with the scoreboard. You need to load the game up once, go back to menu, then load the game up a second time. I've used this method for virtually everything that I've submitted so far.

Are there any known issues with running a capture card and submitting a score? I tried submitting one yesterday and it froze while it was getting memory. It was at 100% but then it didn't upload the score. I didn't get a chance to test it again yet.

Is your AVS on firmware 1.10 ?

Does the game upload with out using a capture card?

What capture card are you using?
