A lot of my games are on multi-carts. If I get the AVS, will it accept scores from games I play off my multi-carts? I have the Pocket Games 150-in-1 multi-cart made in 2015 which actually has a lot of unmodified games (no copyright stuff removed, no cheats, etc.) although one game on it does have cheats which is Super Mario Bros. 3. It's the pirated Japanese version with a cheat that let's you pick any item on the map by pressing the B button and then pressing select and it'll go through any item you'd like to pick. It also has infinite star power once you get a star which can get quite amusing at times.

It will not. Right now only one score per cartridge is capable of being detected.

Plus some of the games on those carts have been mapper hacked to mmc3 so they won't pass the integrity check on the game the scoreboard software does.

...but as far as "working" to simply play: probably.

For Scoreboard the game you will score needs to be loaded when you pick Start from the AVS menus. So for a multicart you would have to start the cart, pick the game, use button combo to go back to the AVS menus, then start again. That is how ROMs on flash carts work too otherwise you end up dumping the flash cart bios instead. The bigger problem which Aaron mentioned is many (most?) games will be mapper hacked, so they won't dump correctly. There really isn't a way to know which games on the cart will be good or bad without trying them.

Ok thanks. I kind of figured they'd be a problem since I've read about the problems multi-carts caused for emulator developers since they all used custom/hacked mappers that weren't used by any real games. Thanks for the tip though bunnyboy.

The 150-in-1 Pocket Games cart is slightly problematic with my AVS. It works, but there is some weird graphical glitching on the menus and in all games. It's the only cart in my collection that does this. It kind of looks like it has a dirty connector, but it doesn't. Doesn't really bug me because there are too many Japanese and PAL games on it for me anyway, but just a heads up there.

I actually just got the much better 143-in-1 "100 Best NES Games" cart and have had way better success. Better versions of roms, no graphical issues on the AVS, and using the scoreboard method listed above works.
