For those who use Gamevaluenow, how do you import your collections?

So, I have a pretty big set of games for each console, and a long time ago I took hours and even days to manually jot all my stuff in because I could never figure out how to import my google spreadsheet to it. Looking at it now deciding to update it finally, I find myself discouraged by just how time consuming it would be and wondered if I could be approaching this in a smarter way. I figured i'd tap the shoulders of other collectors to see how you all deal with it?

it's a god. damn. nightmare. unlike it's competitor, the import process didn't work at all. csv? failed. tab? failed? xls or xlsx? failed. hey, maybe an excel and using all of their headers that they specify in their help file? fail. Had to enter all the info by hand.

caveat- i could be a stupid head and not know how to computer things (or on a mac version of excel) so please update this if you find success. Good luck!

ditto. I don't recall any issues with the actual import or the column mappings.

The game titles, however, led to a lot of ambiguity and/or mismatches. However, that encouraged me to perform an audit and cleanup my own sheets.

Does anyone else get security warnings for gamevaluenow? I haven't been able to access the site for a week.

Glovesy cleared those up last night -- try again? New SSL cert in place.

Further to this, the security warnings are  just that - warnings. They don't stop you visiting the site, you just need to click "Advanced" and then "Proceed to site".

well, to be fair, some of the modern browsers try and make it... difficult... to ignore these. For many users, it's effectively the same as the site being down.

I imported from my Excel file with no problems, just make sure you use the proper format. However, was still time consuming since the majority of my games are new/sealed and I could not find a way to import them as new. I had to import the new games separately from used, and change them to new manually once imported. My wrist would ache...

Also - you really shouldn't ignore warnings like "Security certificate invalid."  Who knows if someone hijacked the site and installed malware? Clicking past warnings is generally a bad idea - especially in the case of a trusted site going "rogue." It's better to just wait until the issue is fixed. Yes, it looked like it was a date issue, but I wasn't going to trust it.

Would you be able to post like an image example of the format GVN needs to get it to work? I use Google Spreadsheets but they can be downloaded, it just never works for me and makes me surrender quite harshly

I think I used the format below, can check when I get home if it doesn't work.   Just make sure the data starts in the first cell.

Yikes, sorry for bad image.
