2018 UPDATE:

After close to 10 years (!), I finally managed to complete what I believe to be the full set of these large promotional Konami stickers, some of which have proven to be exceptionally hard to find. There is no full list of these stickers available, so it is certainly possible that more stickers/variants exist, but I have followed sales carefully this past decade and like to think that this is it.

As for rarity, the rectangular-backed and multi-console variants are significantly rarer than their oval and NES-only counterparts, and the hardest to find were both the Batman Returns sticker and the rectangular-backed Turtles variant. It took over 8 years of running search queries and regular manual searches to locate the Batman Returns sticker after finding out about its existence. The Turtles sticker only surfaced twice in the last decade AFAIK and was the last sticker to complete the set.

Anyway, thought I'd share as some of you may collect these, too. Pictures are attached to this post (two non-NES stickers included for good measure, I wouldn't consider these part of the set).

ORIGINAL 2009 POST:

I've been picking these up piece by piece from sticker collectors and was wondering if anyone else collects these or knows how many different ones are out there?  So far, I've only come across the ones in the pic + a variant for Parodius.  All the doubles are variants in one way or another (if you look closely, you'll see the differences).  I'm not 100% sure on how these were attainable back in the day, but I did read about them in a German Nintendo magazine a while back, just forgot the details.  I think it was by sending in UPCs of the games or something along those lines, but I'll have to dig through my magazines sometime to be certain.  Some of these were pretty hard to track down, so I don't think they were all produced in equal numbers.

Edit:  These are reasonably large stickers btw, about 6 inches wide.

Yeah, these are all from Germany. Konami seems to have put some effort into extra promotion, as they also made a German games guide for NES/SNES/GB with the same German tagline as seen on these stickers.

Btw, if anyone is interested in any of those Konami stickers, I've got doubles of several of them.

I also picked these up from two different sellers in Germany, so even though they represent the NTSC versions, I think these came from some source in Germany (anyone know from where?? I'd guess a magazine given that they are similar in size to postcards but they don't have any markings from previously being attached to anything).

I went through a lot of German gaming mags and came across two mags with coupons in them to obtain 5 random free stickers from Konami, so that's where these must originate from. The coupons are in mags dated just before the introduction of the Golden Game Point, so it wouldn't surprise me if you were able to obtain leftover stickers with the Golden Game Points as well.

Yeah, they don't show up often.  I got mine from several sticker collectors that were selling out in the past few years.  I have multiples of a few of these if anyone is interested.

Those are AWESOME!
I like how they cheesed Castlevania and just used the simons quest photo LOL
Id love something like this, but I'm sure I couldnt justify the "fair" price for something this obscure.

7.5 year bump --> finally completed what I believe to be the full set and thought I'd share as there are no lists available (see first post).

Only took a decade to complete!

Me, too. There's really four main Parodius variants; two extras have glue on (different sides) on the back signalling that they were included with certain print media.

Yep   I've accumulated a fair number of doubles in my search for variants.

Nice! Very cool to see the whole set. I have a few that I've put in my CIB games. I think Castlevania and Turtles. Congrats on completing the set. Really dig some of the ones I hadn't seen before like the Konami logo and Topgun.

Congrats! That's an awesome and unique set! How are you going to display them?

To the Finder...
The Isle of Koholint is but an illusion...
Human, monster, sea, sky...
A scene on the lid of a sleeper's eye...
Awake the dreamer, and Koholint will vanish much like a bubble on a needle...
Cast-away, you should know the Truth!

I have stored them in enclosed binders at the moment to protect them from dust and UV. If I knew with absolute certainty that there are no other variants out there, then I´d consider framing the entire set (with miniscule variants overlapping).
