I think it would be quite entertaining to have a set amount of time from when a thread is declared locked to when it is actually locked from replies. Say a conversation is getting out of control or the topic is just getting out of hand, then mods should have the power to have a lock down time so people can get in their last words. The rules of the site would still apply with conduct, but overall I think this would be hilarious on certain threads that have been locked in the past. Banned members can go down in a blaze of glory, which still happens from time to time.

While I'm not sure if this would be a good idea per say, I can imagine how it could make some very funny last minute posts on a thread to be locked.
