Wow wish I had that kind of luck, good job. That's nearly about what I would pay for Metal Warriors which means I'll probably never own it.

That's a shame, cause metal warriors is a really fun game.

Who is this PPG punk and why is his initials on every 3rd cart I find!?!

found some old school pc games last week.

Liesure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards

Ultima VII the Black Gate on 5.25 floppies

Grim Fandango

It's pretty neat to find old big box pc games that aren't just junk. Any idea what these are worth? Larry is missing the napkin collectible from what I can tell, but the disks also appear to be early since they are generic Sierra disks with out the Larry logo on them. There's a completed listing on ebay for Ultima with 3.5 disks instead of 5.25s for $80, but I don't know how mine compares.

These will all be up for sale/trade if anyone is interested.

So, my local shop does a pretty good business, and fortunately for me a lot of prices on good retro games are way out of date. Up until a couple months ago I've been stopping in there a couple times a week to check for new stuff, since if I don't I have competition in town that will. I missed an Earthbound for $30 by a day or so this summer, and I'm still a little bitter about that one.

They finally got a website up a couple months ago, with current inventory and everything. You can sign up for email notifications when they add a game to inventory, but it only tracks for 2 months and you have to do each game individually. Obviously i'm not going to do this for 100 games every 2 months and I want to have multiple points of contact if something hot comes in. So I did the next best thing and wrote some utilities to keep track of my want list and do a scan of the website every hour.

I've caught a few good titles this way (SG Punisher probably the best), but today I got the first big hit:

$30 hooray!

finally had a good hit from savers. I think the last good thing I got there was the bag of intellivision carts in november. everything works great, it just needs a good cleaning. I'm conflicted about removing the dinosaur stickers though

I missed this by a day. Dang... I'm in town (Sioux Falls) for the weekend by the way. Might make a stop by some game stores later today. I'm mainly just looking for GBA and Gamecube right now though.  Not that I'd pass up on a $10 toploader, thats a sweet deal.

Today was a big day- the annual half off sale at the local used music/movie/game shop (see above for last year's event). There are 2 locations in town. I went to one and my buddy went to the other to give us the best chance of getting high priority stuff on our list.

nes isolated warrior 2.50
nes shadowgate 2.50
nes donkey kong classics 6.50
nes donkey kong 3 6.00
nes donkey kong jr 4.50
nes star wars 6.50
nes tecmo nba 2.50
nes popeye 3.50
nes nes open 2.50
nes ren and stimpy buckeroo$ 2.50
nes super c 5.00
n64 indiana jones infernal machine  5.00
gc baten kaitos 2.50
dvd vanishing point 1971 4.00

i had picked up a few things for my buddy so we met up and traded after he was done at the 2nd store. while we were hanging out at his place i checked craigslist and found this that had just been posted

nes with cords, 4x controllers and zapper
smb/dh with 2x(?) instructions
(all of these cib)
super sprint
xevious
tetris
gunsmoke
metroid
blaster master
dragon warrior (everything but the slim styro)
legend of zelda class series (map had not been out of the plastic pouch)
bunch of NP magazines from 1991 or so
nintendo player's guide book

He was asking $50 which I would have paid, but he managed talk himself down to $40 while I was on the phone with him so it's right near my friend's place so we load up and head right over before someone else can swoop in. We get there and he says he has a SNES too, and pull out the system with cords, super metroid, zombies ate my neighbors, and some common games. I offer him $20 and he takes it so all that for $60.

My friend is more of a SNES collector than me and I was using his computer to check craigslist so I give it to him for the $20 I paid for it, and we traded super metroid and a snes controller for the Legend of Zelda that came with the nes. So I end up $40 for the picture above. I gave him a couple of the NP's with mega man stuff on the front because he's a big fan.

I stop by the second location on my way home and pick up all this

nes empire strikes back 4.50
nes adventure island II 4.50
nes gold medal 92 2.50
nes punch out 6.00
nes thunder & lightning 2.50
nes toobin 2.50
nes roundball 2.50
nes gauntlet II 2.50
nes basewars 2.50
gc freedom fighter 3.00
gc nascar chase 2005 2.50
gc nhl 06 2.50
gc sum of all fear 2.00
gc billy hatcher 2.50
gc  ufc throwndown 2.50
gc dragon ball z sagas 3.00
gc drome racers 2.00
wii secret saturdays something 6.00

all the gamecube games are for NintendoTwizer since he missed the sale by a week- hope I did ok dude! I was going try to grab some lego 3DS game for my boy but that stuff got cleaned out in a hurry. I don't think there were any 3DS games left in the computer when I got to the 2nd store. I got the secret saturdays game for him, so we'll see if he likes it.

and as a bonus, I picked this up from the same store pre-sale yesterday

ps2 .hack quarantine $23

I wasn't about to try to fight it out to get it for half off today. I'm plenty ok with that price.

A quick one today: tmnt tournament fighters and ninja gaiden III, $24 and change total. These popped up at my favorite local shop. I already have tmnt tf so this one is probably getting traded to my buddy I got the last one I saw there and I think that was 2 years ago or better. This is the first ng3 I've seen there since I've been paying attention and that's probably 4+ years.

It's a beauty dude, congrats! This is on my list of under appreciated rarities, I'd love to add one in that condition to my collection.

Nice gamble!

first things first, I had that F2 find I thought deserved it's own post. http://nintendoage.com/forum/mess...

Today I received package for my follow up ebay score. I won this auction last Friday. http://cgi.ebay.com/140724387240...
$129 shipped for everything. here are the prizes from that box:

Photobucket

among the jeopardys and othellos and standard disney stuff were these 2 gems. and for icing on the cake, there were surprises to go with them

Photobucket

books! had no idea those would be in there. they're well worn but complete, and way better than nothing. also included was a Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt with manual, so that's cool.

also, I picked up a complete Suikoden II for PS1 this week. $35 from my local game store, but that hardly seems worth mentioning at this point.

You have some awesome scores.

I would love to find a Suikoden II for $35. Heck, I would easily pay double that or more...

And, the Snow Bros/Chip & Dale 2 is just icing on your F2 cake... getting some increasingly expensive ones knocked off.

If you've never played it before, play through Suikoden II. It's easily one of my 3 favorite games ever.

quick update, I jumped on this ebay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/140736002987...

stock photo, minimal listing, but I can't pass on that. this showed up today:

Photobucket

was only expecting the cart, which I would have been happy with for the low price of $4. the fact that it was complete with the map and registration cart (and an extra jaleco registration card?) was an excellent surprise.

Got these in the mail today.

http://cgi.ebay.com/170824725526...
http://cgi.ebay.com/170824637396...

Both are CIB with insert posters, opened but originally sticker sealed. Not perfect but no big creases or gashes outside the small tear on the back corner of gyromite. They are probably the "earliest" items I have and I'm really happy to have them. Gyromite also has a converter, but I won't be scavenging that one.

as a bonus, I found this guy at Savers for $7 on the way home today. No idea what to do with it yet.Photobucket
