I haven't used mine yet, but I'm going to test it out at MAGfest this weekend and see how many pieces I can get.

I haven't met anyone yet... Suppose not many people where I work carry game consoles

By the way, how close do two 3DS consoles have to be, in order for them to communicate?

I took mine to Dragon*Con last summer and got over 100 in just a couple of days. I'm sure now that the price has dropped, and it's doing much better, MAGFest is going to be flooded with them.

All in all, I like it - it's just something fun to do, and it gives you a reason to bring your 3DS out with you.

I don't think the range is super far - maybe 20 feet or so?

Ok, so 20 feet = 6 meters    Not too bad, but hard to get any hits in most places I go to...

Yeah, I wish there were conventions here lol

I even carried it in several airports here in Europe, thinking "at least some kid must have a 3DS". But no luck so far. I wish I had the console when I went to Japan. I'd be meeting people all day long for sure

It's got to be more than 20 feet b/c I picked up one from somebody visiting my neighbor and there's one house between us.

I take my 3DS everywhere and I'm up to 13 streetpass visitors now.

If you have any GBA signage or kiosk I would be interested. Please send me a PM because I'm only here about once a month now but I'm still VERY interested in large system signage or small playable kiosks related to the GBA.

I think I met about 8 or 9 but to be honest I find this kinda pointless to have on the 3DS.

I've had a bite or two but not much, guess not a lot of people in my area had one when I did bother (pre-price drop) and since the wifi sucks the battery pretty hard I leave it off unless I need it.

Bumping an old thread. I'm in Europe right now and I StreetPassed with about 38 people in 9 days! One one day alone strolling through Paris near the Eiffel Tower and the surrounding area, I picked up over 8 in one day! I now have 10 or so separate regions done. In Italy (Venice, Florence, so far, and I going to Rome tomorrow) I have picked up 6.

In France and Italy, I have StreetPassed with people from:

Switzerland
Japan (Tokyo region)
Italy (4 regions in italy)
France (3 regions in France)
Germany (2 regions)
U.S. While in Europe (VA,FL,MD,CA).

I like the feature.

I should head over to the Frankfurt airport and hang out all day. So many airliners coming in and heading out...
As of now I have exactly one Street Pass. I tend to leave my 3DS in the bathroom, which is right next to the main road. But in all those hours only one person came by with their 3DS on. I guess this feature is neat when you live in a high density population but makes less sense when your neighborhood is considered the whole county.

On Natendo's advice I took mine to the Zelda symphony concert last night and picked up about 40, so yeah - take it to a nerd gathering.

Battery sucking waste of time so I leave it off, when I did keep it on for awhile when it was new I never got much of anything out of it adding to the pointless feeling. I'd rather drain it on a game than having it sniff for people.

Never used it much outside of at home with my kids systems, but got hundreds of people from all over the globe at E3 with minimal effort. (and got a few of you at Campout!)

In "regular life" I'd pick up demo units and not much else. Guess there isn't much of a scene for it in Annapolis. Took it to PAX-East(and stayed at the hotel that was hosting AnimeBoston) though and it was C R A Z Y. Got some Nintendo reps, lots of items for KI:Uprising, beat Find Mii a few times, and got a LOAD of puzzle pieces. I think for the 3 days I was there I got in the neighborhood for 400 unique passes(even Suda51!) and lots of repeat passes.
