So a few weeks back I was contacted by somebody who had purchased a Nintendo M82 Store Demo Unit.
The reason he contacted me was because the thing had some issues.

Yesterday he payed me a visit and I started exploring the thing.
I am gonna do a full blog of this restoration.

Hey Jason,

Very interesting indeed.
Specially the part about the PSU replacement and the IRQ fix.
by the way (I think I already know the answer) about the IRQ fix.....
The IRQ line needs to be connected to all cartridge slots I guess ?
If so, I guess I could jumper-wire from one slot to the other ?

The PSU is scary indeed and I am most certainly gonna either redo it or go for a total replacement (like you)

The M82 over here still needs a lot of love (controllers need to be cleaned/replaced), video modulator is fried, PSU is scary as sh*t, the rotary switch for the time setting needs to be refitted (it's missing and I used a jumperwire on the board right now which I have set to the longest playtime...which is 128 minuts per game) and a huge collection of dust is inside this unit, but this is a really cool project and I love it already !!
It's not mine, but from a friend of min

Ok, little progress made.
My new video amp was mounted permanently and all is working fine.

I am doing the IRQ fix right now, but to all cartridge slots

The PSU is gonna be replaced, for now it is running on my external PSU and so far it has been running fine

The pain of having to play games to test it.....

I was wondering how the full IRQ mod went for you? I did it on mine but found the full mod had too much interference. I ended up doing the first and third banks and it is working pretty well.

Same here....
I finished the M82 repair about 3 weeks ago, but didn't have time to blog it out yet.
